Kitchandro Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 Don't really agree, but something needs to be done about child porn. The Internet is a great thing, probably the greatest invention of our time, and one of the best things is that it was never policed. Even Berners-Lee came out the other day and said something, can't remember what. It's such a shame that people do 'misuse' it in a way (again, I'm not talking about porn, but images of children etc). So why not just block child porn?!
marko Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 I find it quite bizarre, even hypocritical, that Cameron is introducing this blanket censorship to protect children, yet the same man cut funding to the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre by 10%. Go figure...
SystonFox Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 Typical. Let's not blame individuals, let's blame TV, video games and porno. People wouldn't rape if it wasn't for porn you know. Unsure if serious or...
Leicesterpool Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 I love the fact that the news channels this morning had interviews with people who support the move, but no interviews with a thickly bespectacled, massive right armed bloke with greasy hair and a trench coat who opposes the change. There's just no balance in broadcasting any more. Speak to Jim Davidson! But anyway ever since the Jimmy Saville scandal came out, the whole thing as gone over the top. I agree we need to tackle with certain images of child and stamp it out but the idea of punishing incident people is just ridiculous. I mean everybody isn't a paedo.
Kitchandro Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 Unsure if serious or... Really? People don't think I'm that thick, do they?
Bellend Sebastian Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 The 1970s/80s pornography distribution model of torn up copies of jazz mags being left in alleyways and local beauty spots will have to be revived. Call me naive but I never really understood what that was all about
Leicesterpool Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 Also when you watch programmes on tele or films most of them contain sex scenes. What are they are going to do about that?
Trav Le Bleu Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 Not too sure what the fuss is about. 20 years ago people wouldn't have thought it was their god-given right to access anything they like, but it's not like it's stopping you if you really want to. Phone call, hey presto, Ali Bongo! Unfortunately there's far too many irresponsible parents around to say, leave it to the parents. I'd take it further to violent images
kingfox Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 Is it just me. Or is Leicesterpool getting really worked up about this
Fox92 Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 So why not just block child porn?! That's what I was trying to say...
21st Century Fox Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 This particular measure isn't to do with child pornography, this is just the influence of porn being readily available to children if parents are too lazy to police their own households. The opting in and out will have to be made simple for thick adults so a computer savy child will be able to work around it no problem anyway. We're not far off having full blown f**king in music videos anyway so they'll always have that to fall back on. I'm sure this has nothing to do with pushing the Crosby/Lobbying stories off the headlines.
Zingari Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 Do you mean to say that all this time I've wasted on FT , I could have been watching free porn ? Well thanks a lot !!
Bellend Sebastian Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 They were suggesting on the radio that child pornography isn't generally accessed via web searches anyway, with the dodgy material being shared by peer to peer networks which presumably the proposed filters wouldn't touch. I've no idea how the internet is monitored, but surely you'd have to be on the reckless side to be using Google etc to search for kiddy porn?
Kitchandro Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 Is it really a big deal if kids see regular porn though? I just used to think it was hilarious. Now werewolves, ET and zombies jumping out of nowhere, those were things that scarred me for life, but no, nobody tried to protect me from that did they? I still have the nightmares.
Leicesterpool Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 Is it just me. Or is Leicesterpool getting really worked up about this i'm not worked up, i just think there's alot more worrying things going on in the country and David Cameron is more worried about kids accessing adult websites.
Finnegan Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 It's a rite of passage for all teenage boys. Those first, dangerous glimpses on websites you know you shouldn't be looking at without your parents catching you. Learning to delete your history AND temporary internet files was a vital life skill for us at 14, how can we deny that for future generations?!
Zingari Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 Young lads will have do as I did and to make do with the lingerie section of the Grattan catalogue . You've been spoilt for too long !! Oh and when you've finished, don't forget to leave it open at the sportswear or toys section ,(that was the 60's version of deleting history)
Tielemans63 Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 For second a read that as- Cameron to unveil online porn hub I read it as porn club! I'm gutted as I'm going to have to rely on memory now. It'll be interesting to see what effect this has on the nation if they go ahead with it. Maybe the population will multiply without millions of men being able to rely on their iphone to be able to have a quick tug before dinner?
ScouseFox Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 Gonna have to change my answer in the "how much do you use the internet" thread soon.
Smudge Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 Young lads will have do as I did and to make do with the lingerie section of the Grattan catalogue . You've been spoilt for too long !! Oh and when you've finished, don't forget to leave it open at the sportswear or toys section ,(that was the 60's version of deleting history) Oh come on I be you were a regular at Leon's Bookshop. Just around the corner from AN's
Zingari Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 Oh come on I be you were a regular at Leon's Bookshop. Just around the corner from AN's no I don't remember that one , i remember there was a second hand record shop ( Browns) and someone told me they had under the counter stuff i was quite happy with the lingerie section of Marshall Ward or Grattan i think it helps a lad develop his imagination I read it as porn club! I'm gutted as I'm going to have to rely on memory now. It'll be interesting to see what effect this has on the nation if they go ahead with it. Maybe the population will multiply without millions of men being able to rely on their iphone to be able to have a quick tug before dinner? that's me fooked then
21st Century Fox Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 no I don't remember that one , i remember there was a second hand record shop ( Browns) and someone told me they had under the counter stuff i was quite happy with the lingerie section of Marshall Ward or Grattan i think it helps a lad develop his imagination that's me fooked then That sort of stuff is just white noise to me know, thanks to Brazzers.
Zingari Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 That sort of stuff is just white noise to me know, thanks to Brazzers. There you go you see , it's like drugs , you keep needing stronger and stronger stuff . Back in the day , I could easily knock one out while watching Valerie Singleton or Susan Stranks gluing some stuff together . Then I moved on to Pan's People , and it was all downhill from there!!
21st Century Fox Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 It must have some affect on a generation of men's crafty/logical part of the brain. I mean you can put 5000 porn videos on a tiny USB and thats it, but how would you go about hiding 5000 magazines and VHS cassettes. We must be getting less sneaky as a result surely.
