ADK Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-23401076 Thoughts? Personally i'm against any government control of the internet.
davieG Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 For second a read that as- Cameron to unveil online porn hub
indierich06 Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 Sounds like a gesture more than anything, he wants to be seen to be doing something about it without really doing anything.
leicsmac Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 Filtering out the more depraved kinds of porn is all well and good, but that happens anyway (though it may not be as efficient as it should be). However this 'opt-out' idea is non-consensual censorship which sets a very dangerous precedent. What gets 'filtered' next? And if parents aren't savvy enough to be keeping track of what their kids are doing on the Internet perhaps it might be a good idea for them to get better at it rather than this kind of blanket measure? IMO there's nothing wrong with the present 'opt-in' system.
Finnegan Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 Apparently nobody's told the Tories the internet only exists for porn.
leicsmac Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 Apparently nobody's told the Tories the internet only exists for porn. You said it... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWEjvCRPrCo
21st Century Fox Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 Thank god I've been stockpiling pornography like a survivalist.
Alf Bentley Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 Fvck David Cameron. What, on a live stream from a porn site? Not my cup of tea, but whatever turns you on... Like Davie, I misread this - thought topic title was "Cameron to unveil online porn club". I had visions of his missus engaged in filthy conduct in that red charity wig she was photographed in a few months back, which significantly improved her equine features. Wouldn't have minded viewing a little Nadine Dorries action, but would've drawn the line at Theresa May, I think.
Larry_LCFC Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 Well this is going to be ****in awkward. "Hey mum, I dont watch porn or anything, but please dont put the filters on our computer... just in case I have a school project .... or something".
Leicesterpool Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 I'm sorry but isn't there such thing already on the internet, which says family filter which stops adult websites coming up.
21st Century Fox Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 The collective sound of newsagents everywhere installing a longer top shelf.
Larry_LCFC Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 And I really dont agree with the fact it will automatically be added unless you opt out. These things shouldnt be imposed like that. If you want it, you sign up for it.
Charl91 Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 You already get internet filters for kids. I really don't see what the point of this is, other then the Government trying to restrict what people do/don't watch.
AdamN Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 Personally I can't wait for the phone call I have to make to my ISP when I brazenly declare that I can no longer access the finest Brazilian transsexual gangbang websites.
kingfox Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 A high supply of Lube will be flying off the shelfs, until this comes into force. Make the most of it guys.
Leicesterpool Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 I have a read somewhere google aren't particularly impressed with this idea
Guest Bilo Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 British Man in His Forties Screws Teenage Virgins.
Leicesterpool Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 Well if Cameron wanted to watch porn, then as he got to ring up aswell?
Kitchandro Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 Typical. Let's not blame individuals, let's blame TV, video games and porno. People wouldn't rape if it wasn't for porn you know.
Vacamion Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 I love the fact that the news channels this morning had interviews with people who support the move, but no interviews with a thickly bespectacled, massive right armed bloke with greasy hair and a trench coat who opposes the change. There's just no balance in broadcasting any more.
Fox92 Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 Don't really agree, but something needs to be done about child porn. The Internet is a great thing, probably the greatest invention of our time, and one of the best things is that it was never policed. Even Berners-Lee came out the other day and said something, can't remember what. It's such a shame that people do 'misuse' it in a way (again, I'm not talking about porn, but images of children etc).
