Fantastic isn't it?

Perhaps a cameo season in League 2 with a return to Cov and then scraping promotion in the playoffs.

Absolutely, don't want them to be successful, hope they struggle but they should be playing in their own city.

It's a shame, it really is.

Going to lead to a generation of glory hunting wankers growing up in Coventry instead of supporting their local team.

At least we know where all of our extra season ticket holders have come from...

Ricoh row: Coventry City fans march in arena protest

_76221816_4dd5189a-69e9-4ba2-a94d-ed4f55Fans called on club bosses to reach an agreement with the Ricoh Arena's owners

Thousands of Coventry City fans have staged a rally calling for the club's return to the Ricoh Arena.

Supporters marched from Gosford Green to the city centre to call for an end to a long-running rent dispute.

In an open letter to fans, the club's owners said they were "ready and willing" to discuss a deal with Arena Coventry Limited (ACL).

Jan Mokrzycki, of supporters' group Sky Blue Trust, said the development was "encouraging".

The club has played its home games at Northampton Town's ground, about 34 miles (54km) from Coventry, since August.

In their open letter, Coventry chief executive Tim Fisher and Joy Seppala, head of club owners Sisu, said they wanted the club to own its own ground.

But in the meantime, they said, they were willing to discuss an agreement with Ricoh owners ACL to see home games played there.

They said rent was "not the biggest problem" and a "fair deal" regarding the club's match-day revenues needed to be reached.

Mr Mokrzycki said the statement was a "chink of light" for fans and hoped the protest would push those in charge "over the line" towards an agreement.

Right I can't get me head around this, CCFC and their fans are playing the victim here? That they've been chucked out the Ricoh.

They couldn't and didn't pay the rent for a good 12 months (Infact think it was more like 18 months?) well i'm sorry but that CCFC's fault not the owners of the Ricoh, the owners of the Ricoh were lenient enough for CCFC to get away with it for that long.

What's changed? What makes CCFC able to afford the rent - more so this plan of owning the stadium/building a new stadium - Where has this money come from, because no football club makes money (Not many anyway) and I dare say CCFC are one of the clubs making the least money in football.

It's a terrible situation and i'd hate Leicester to be in this situation but at the end of the day all of what i've said above is true - from in the information I have seen a read and I can't get me head around why CCFC and the fans think they are the victim that they've been chucked out of the Ricoh.

If you didn't pay rent for a flat or house you certainly wouldn't get away for it for 12 - 18 months, then be able to move back in.

I think the problem is that all matchday revenues like food and parking go to ACL.

Well the fact they havn't paid rent for 12 - 18 months or however long I think that's the least the can ask for.

Ok, they may have took the revenues before CCFC stopped paying rent but the point still stands.

And I dare say it was all written up in a contract which CCFC would have agreed to.

No, the fans want to go back, but the owners of the club refused to pay the rent to drive the owners of the ricoh into trouble so they had to sell them the stadium on the cheap. They had the money to pay the rent, but SISU refused to do so for their own gains.

Their fans are the victims, they've been screwed over by the owners using their club as a bargaining chip and not bothering about ensuring the security of the club.

But they won't will they? CCFC need the Ricoh more than the Ricoh need CCFC.

And if CCFC aren't paying the owners of the Ricoh then they are within their right to chuck them out.

Of course the fans want to go back, but at the end of the day it's the owners fault and unfortunately there is nothing the fans can do about that - I'm not saying that is right, far from it, but god know how the SISU have got so far in business if this is how they think a business is ran well and they think not paying rent gives them bargaining power to buy something on the cheap, alienating themselves from the fans, losing fans, losing money by losing fans, e.t.c and from what I can see are not making a penny anywhere, i'm not a businessman, far from it, but I can tell you there is no business sense in what they have done/doing.

Also and i've said this in the past a few times SISU agreed a contract with the owners of the Ricoh for the rent - they obviously broke this contract not paying the rent, claiming it was too expense - well they made their bed, they can lie in it. Again not the fans fault and that unfortunate but fans do not run clubs, owners do, right or wrong as it may be.

Something tells me SISU didn't envisage, plan, want to do this - surely they wanted fans on side, success, and make money.

But I remain by saying CCFC need the Ricoh more than the Ricoh and it's owners need CCFC.

No, they won't achieve it, but that's what SISU have been trying to do. They've tried to cut off a source of income for the ricoh to lessen it's value - their entire plan for coventry revolved around using them to get the ricoh, threatening to pull out the rent in an attempt to get them to sell the ground for less than it's worth - threatening to remove a source of income is a bargaining chip, but they've really played it wrongly when the ricoh could make more money with events without the football club in the way.

They've played it horrendously badly.

It doesn't take a genius to work out it was going to end this way, i've always said that.

SISU must be very dim people, thick a fuck.

Reports in the local papers say they will be back at the Ricky arena by September, SISU have paid up about £470k in back rent and agreed to pay Northampton compo for moving out.

Just seen it, breaking news. Pleased for them. No team should be playing away from their home. Especially a club like Coventry, a major City, you know, hopefully they'll be able to attract a new generation of fans in rather them grow up supporting Manchester City and Chelsea.

Good to see. Needs the same fans who pushed for the move to support them week in, week out now.

I would empathize with any Cov fan that is seriously considering never coming back to watch them play, no matter where they play, as long as Sisu own the club. And if I were an American teacher that could trace my pension fund's investment to this black hole that Sisu have created at Cov, I'd be ****ing furious.

Well I hope all these fans bleating about them needing to come home go and support them now, because some of those same fans bleating about the City need a football team I know never went to game to my knowledge.

I also hope they pay the bleeding rent this time, else how anyone can defend them or justify it is out of their mind, they've been given a 2nd chance (Well probably more than that tbh) time to do it properly the crooks.

I think they will get a good crowd for the first few game then over time it'll drop and they'll be lucky to get over 10k imo.

Also, how dare they play at our Under 21's winter home ground.
