leicsmac Posted 8 August 2013 Posted 8 August 2013 yes we could. but i didn't see much sympathy for us before. i ran out of sympathy for other clubs after that, brighton, pompey, rangers whoever it may be. there's too many now, it's almost become survival of the richest. This is true. But isn't that sad, that it's come to that? Football (at the top level, anyway) has sold its soul to 'the colour'.
MrSpaM Posted 8 August 2013 Posted 8 August 2013 Seeing them lose to clubs like Crawley is much funnier than them not existing at all. For this reason I hope they dont go under
ScouseFox Posted 11 August 2013 Posted 11 August 2013 The 5 or 6 people (and the dog, of course) who have bothered to watch this have witnessed a fúcking cracker. 3-0 up, back to 3-3. 4-3 up pegged back to 4-4, 85th minute they've just gone 5-4 up.
purpleronnie Posted 11 August 2013 Posted 11 August 2013 That looks horrible Fair play to the coventry fans, I don't blame them one bit.
fazzyfox Posted 11 August 2013 Posted 11 August 2013 I hear there is a special Coventry City legends match today ironically at the Ricoh. They'll be knackered playing three aside on a full sized pitch.

Leicesterpool Posted 25 August 2013 Posted 25 August 2013 They drew 4-4 with Preston, just crazy! Preston scored in the last minute to win it and Cov go up the other end and equalize!
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 26 August 2013 Posted 26 August 2013 Respect to Coventry's team, who in the most dire circumstances, are showing some real heart on the pitch. I hope they stay up, I think they could even make playoffs if they get a run going
Guest Bilo Posted 26 August 2013 Posted 26 August 2013 17 goals in two home games?! If the Coventry fans aren't coming to the games, the locals just might. Perhaps this is being engineered by Coventry going on all out attack at home, or is that a bit El Empty?
The Horse's Mouth Posted 26 August 2013 Posted 26 August 2013 I don't understand their refusal to turn up. Surely that is only hurting the club even more?
Rincewind Posted 26 August 2013 Posted 26 August 2013 While poorer clubs go under clubs like man Utd and Arsenal will rule and determine the future olf football which could mean more KO times to suit TV schedules tournaments fans can't get to or afford and higher prices at the ground. You could end up with a super league that includes continental sides. Other teams will be stuck in the lower leagues because of finances and being unable to pay the wages or attract fans. It's going a little that way now and without a crop of smaller clubs the fans will turn to the big names as armchair supporters.
Fox92 Posted 26 August 2013 Posted 26 August 2013 They drew 4-4 with Preston, just crazy! Preston scored in the last minute to win it and Cov go up the other end and equalize! Fans are certainly getting entertainment and value for money. They won 4-0 last week, beat Bristol City 5-4 (was it?) the week before.
Jordan Posted 26 August 2013 Posted 26 August 2013 I don't understand their refusal to turn up. Surely that is only hurting the club even more?Sisu has never negotiated with the ACL (Ricoh Stadium management) in good faith. The administration and subsequent re-purchase of the club by a Sisu-owned company was a sham.Say what you will about Cov fans (or lack thereof) but they know what the Sixfields move is all about and I can understand why they wouldn't spend money on tickets to endorse that move. I honestly think it would be better for Cov fans if their club went bust, as strange as it seems. Their owners are not acting in the best interests of the club, that much is clear. The whole point of a leveraged buyout is to not put up a lot of money to buy the company and then making a huge profit by spinning off its assets. Sisu will probably not be able/willing to go much deeper in the red, so if the Sixfields stunt fails, their only choices will be to sell the club (for peanuts and not recoup much of their losses) or go bust (in which case they may be able to pay pennies on the pound to creditors). A club going bust would be terrible but Cov fans may have to tolerate this to get rid of Sisu. I think the club has already reached a point of no return. I can only see turmoil at the club in the future in each possible scenario with the stadium issues and it may be better to start planning for the future as early as possible. Perhaps a new club would also be able to negotiate a more favorable lease agreement with ACL, who may be willing to be more flexible to a new ownership group/club that doesn't owe them money, and would at least generate some income for the stadium.
Leicesterpool Posted 8 September 2013 Posted 8 September 2013 Coventry sadly win 2-0 which means they've managed to get out of the minuses. However! they could face another ten point deduction
Matt Posted 8 September 2013 Posted 8 September 2013 Coventry sadly win 2-0 which means they've managed to get out of the minuses. However! they could face another ten point deduction Why?
Corky Posted 8 September 2013 Posted 8 September 2013 Why? Winning all these games is not normal, probably.
Leicesterpool Posted 8 September 2013 Posted 8 September 2013 Why? Sounded quite complicated what they said on BBC Cov and Warwickshire, something to do with the administrators.
The Doctor Posted 8 September 2013 Posted 8 September 2013 Hold on, but they haven't exited and re-entered administration, so they've already faced the penalties for that... them getting punished again for it sounds kinda like double-jeopardy (being tried twice for the same crime) which I believe isn't legal.
kingfox Posted 8 September 2013 Posted 8 September 2013 Don't care what people think about them. But I've been very impressed with Callum Wilson, terrific start to the season.
