Police said a dark coloured Ford Focus with false number plates was used in the raid at 21:45 BST on Sunday. Up to eight people entered the store and stole "a large number" of home and away strips and two empty tills, West Midlands Police said. Officers are looking at CCTV footage from the Gallagher retail park area, a spokesman said. C-man Posted 26 August 2014 Posted 26 August 2014 lol At what point did they think the shirts would cover the cost of writing off a car? Clearly they went for the cash too but there can't be many businesses that keep cash in tills overnight these days. Not the brightest are they?
FoxesAreBlue Posted 26 August 2014 Posted 26 August 2014 Not the brightest are they? They're from Coventry, what did u expect, MENSA?
Guest Bilo Posted 26 August 2014 Posted 26 August 2014 If they don't get 30,000 plus for their homecoming game, it's a very poor show indeed.
Fox92 Posted 26 August 2014 Posted 26 August 2014 If they don't get 30,000 plus for their homecoming game, it's a very poor show indeed. Anything less than 20,000 would be poor in my opinion. 30k is harsh. A third tier game, on a Friday night.

It seemed like the whole City wanted them back though and felt so strongly about it, they need to support their team, Cov's support or lack of it has it's part (A major part imo) to there demise and situation, they aren't to blame entirely but have a part to play. I reckon they'll get 15k for what it's worth, that will ease off to 10k or below within 5 games.

It's a major City, and it's their only club - a bit like Leicester - so the people will of course want the club back but I do agree that they will then have to support the club. I can't agree that anything less than 30000 is poor though, and that was my main point.
yorkie1999 Posted 27 August 2014 Posted 27 August 2014 First time i've heard of some one ram raiding a poundshop.
fuchsntf Posted 27 August 2014 Posted 27 August 2014 I am glad. Happy to see coventry get their homeground back. upset some, but would love to see a Pl with....City, Forest, Coventry, Derby, Wolves, WBA, Villa, Birmigham, N.county, Northampton,.... Whats the use of rivalry if you cant play against your neighbours. Besides cut out the London and Northern Derbies, plus save on travelling expenses, just think you could see Nottingham night life twice in 7 days, then a good old, different new indian restaurant in Birmingham 3 days later. And 9pts to boot. A short rest with a game in London. Then a weekend on the pennines after visiting Derby, dropping off at Wolves to gather 3pts, preparing for a home game against the Brom, then rest at home watching QPR vs Burnley in the Championship. We do need our fellow midlanders here in the PL.
Corky Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 I was looking back on YouTube at some old Premier League seasons and virtually every season saw Coventry in a relegation struggle, but with the players they had, did they underachieve rather than be the heroic escape artists? Look at some of the players they had: Dublin, McAllister, Huckerby, Keane, Hadji, Chippo, Boateng, Bellamy, Hartson, Carsley, Whelan, Hedman- they are not bad players, plenty of internationals and solid Premier League players. It could be argued that those players were better than Leicester's squad, certainly in terms of natural ability, yet we always finished above them and won trophies too.

There was this guy called Noel Cantwell, whos side always shaved off relegation, one year at the expense of our very own foxes. So we msde up a xmas song about him, not very compimentary it must be said. The Big Match echoed with it when city were on. Since city and coventry fans, just didnt like each other.
Guest Bilo Posted 29 August 2014 Posted 29 August 2014 Anything less than 20,000 would be poor in my opinion. 30k is harsh. A third tier game, on a Friday night. They've been out of the city since May 2013 and their fans have orchestrated a huge campaign with nationwide coverage to get them back. The whole city should be buzzing. They got 30,000 for a JPT Area Final two years ago, failure to achieve similar would be disappointing to say the least. The attendances will fall away thereafter though; they have plans to close a stand if the demand isn't there.

They managed to survive relegation on the last day something like 19 seasons during their stint in the top flight.
Richard Posted 29 August 2014 Posted 29 August 2014 They reckon they sold 2,000 season tickets today and another 6,000 single tickets

Fox92 Posted 4 September 2014 Posted 4 September 2014 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFcml0XFMeE#t=141 Fair play. The chorus is a bit strange but the rest of it's alright.

Matt Posted 5 September 2014 Posted 5 September 2014 Just seen Cov fans being interview on SSN, one fan, infact a couple I think made the quote "Dismal, crowds have been low" to the question "What have the past 18 months been like" :crylaugh: Think i've heard 22,000 for tonight, poor imo. Even if it is more they need to have consistently good crowds to be worth them 'going home' after all the fuss the City has made.

Better than our average when we were down there.
