nlukka Posted 26 August 2013 Posted 26 August 2013 I think you're all missing the big issue here...what about the Ben Marshall song? Who do we sing that for now?
Guest Posted 26 August 2013 Posted 26 August 2013 Substituted at half time is being made a scapegoat. That's how players see it and managers do it to make statement. Can players not take being substituted if they're not particularly on form? Have our team really got such fragile egos? Is a substitution is a statement rather than a tactical manoeuvre now?
ronnup Posted 26 August 2013 Posted 26 August 2013 This all bodes very badly for team spirit and the dressing room.
RowlattsFox Posted 26 August 2013 Posted 26 August 2013 There doesn't seen anything wrong with team spirit on the pitch.

Your team is not playing well, it's arguable that Nigel could have taken off King or James instead of Drinkwater as they had all been below par and Vardy was the standout forward for us and Nugent and Wood had both been ineffective. A player being hauled off at half time is man management suicide, players feel like they are being blamed and singled out for the entire teams poor performance.

But you have to make the change to try and rescue the result. Fvcked if you do, fvcked if you dont!!

Buggsteam Posted 26 August 2013 Posted 26 August 2013 So if Marshall Wood Drinkwater Futacs All want to leave and poss Konch and a rumoured prem club intrested in Wes then I really hope the accadamy step up to the plate as we won't have a team left and with FFP we won't be investing in anyone so season over. Let's all support Cov instead Ok maybe not.

Im pretty sure if this is true, we are better off without such unprofessional players. Sell them, get some fresh and enthusiastic guys in.
RizLCFC Posted 26 August 2013 Posted 26 August 2013 Scotty any idea who the other players are that want to leave? Find all of this quite concerning. As for Marshall, I'm not too bothered that he's leaving as long as we bring in a replacement, someone with a bit of flair would be nice.

If they all left, Micky Cain and Spaggers in the team.

Or maybe the manager is giving as much possible time for the subs to make an impact, like a good manager should?
Bettsj2 Posted 26 August 2013 Posted 26 August 2013 Or maybe the manager is giving as much possible time for the subs to make an impact, like a good manager should? This. If a player cant accept that for the greater good of the team then they may not be the sort of character you want around.
GingerrrFox Posted 26 August 2013 Posted 26 August 2013 Or maybe the manager is giving as much possible time for the subs to make an impact, like a good manager should? You are leaving your players out to dry, no one would bat an eyelid if he made those changes at the 50-55 minute mark. Footballers always feel like they can make the difference and believe in their own ability, they are very ego driven in that respect. Being hauled off at half time = no confidence in you from the manager and you are being blamed for being 1 down at home against a poor side.

Why wait to make changes on the 55-minute mark if, after 45, you realise it isn't working and want to get it sorted there and then? Â He could've taken anyone off, he chose those two, the manager's job is to get results and he felt giving 45 minutes with two new players was the best option.

It's NOT fact. If anything if we were purging goals and we took off a defender, then I might say you could be on to something, but you're not. You're grasping at straws.
RowlattsFox Posted 26 August 2013 Posted 26 August 2013 Mourinho used to sub players during the first half, never did his teams any harm. It's upto those players to ensure they're not taken off at half time next game.
GingerrrFox Posted 26 August 2013 Posted 26 August 2013 You're so full of shit. I work with footballers and have been around team environments my entire working life. You don't have to believe me or listen to what I say but I'm trying to explain why so many of our players are unhappy when the team is performing well. It's common knowledge that many of the players struggle with Nigel's man management.

GingerrrFox Posted 26 August 2013 Posted 26 August 2013 you work in Nando's? No, but I do enjoy the mango and lime chicken wings.
Carl the Llama Posted 26 August 2013 Posted 26 August 2013 ****in' ell. Â First everyone's mad at Nige for not having a plan B and always making substitutions too late in the game, and now he's inept because he switched to plan B by making substitutions too early? And with the result of winning the game no less. Â Get your house in order, Nige.
Micky Posted 26 August 2013 Posted 26 August 2013 No, but I do enjoy the mango and lime chicken wings. so who is not happy with big nige? a couple of players or lots?
