Strokes Posted 26 August 2013 Posted 26 August 2013 Waghorn needs a fresh start, I hope it's him not nugent.I doubt it would even be a talking point if waggy left.
LCFC FOX Posted 26 August 2013 Posted 26 August 2013 You seem to know your stuff so I'm heartened by this and how do you know all your stuff, its just guess work. Nugent has said he wants to stay and sign a new contract
Bert Posted 26 August 2013 Posted 26 August 2013 St Ledger who has openly stated he's happy here, wants to try and get a new deal and likes playing for us as unhappy? Certainly not one who is unhappy! Otherwise I'm none the wiser, Marshall will be going but we all know that. For me Wood only looks miserable because he hasn't scored yet! There's a great team spirit within the squad at the minute and the ones that are making it so are them that are involved on match day. At the end of the day, you're not going to please everyone. But that's football. Players read the forum, maybe they think the criticism they receive is a bit too much at times. Do you all think that what they see and hear doesn't play on their minds? I'm not judging anyone, and I'm sure someone will say "well they should be able to deal with it" and where I would say they are right, you'd be very naive to think that it doesn't play on their mind or affect their performance.
Richard Posted 26 August 2013 Posted 26 August 2013 Nobody's bigger than the club. If Marshall isn't happy and we get a reasonable offer then he can go. After all he's only been a substitute this season/end of last. If it's true that Wood/Drinkwater want to leave then if we get an offer for their value then they can go too. We want a team of players who want to play for this club, if their minds elsewhere then they're no use to us. This is what I like about Pearson. He doesn't take any shit from anyone and has no time for egos
KFS Posted 26 August 2013 Posted 26 August 2013 That made me far more than it should have! Same, oh my
Libertine Dream Posted 26 August 2013 Posted 26 August 2013 Losing Marshall disappoints me, the right manager will get him playing very well. Couldn't care less if Futacs went, wouldn't be overly bothered by slow it down Drinkwater leaving and would relish playing against Wood's new team as his first touch would become our most successful pass. Konchesky can bugger off as well. Obviously we'd need signings but with players falling out with Pearson and Pearson not liking the DoF, I see that the youth team is going to have to step up and probably come the next window, I'm guessing Pearson won't be manager
LCFC FOX Posted 26 August 2013 Posted 26 August 2013 Good luck to Ben if true, had a good spell for us and some wonder goals to remember too. Shame its not working out
Dan Posted 26 August 2013 Posted 26 August 2013 "Pearson's not bigger than the club" Should any manager we appoint be? People use things against Pearson that would be used against anyone. I'm curious to see what this 'shambles' squad will look like in two weeks.
Corky Posted 26 August 2013 Posted 26 August 2013 Rather loan him out to gain confidants. People to talk to privately?
kingfox Posted 26 August 2013 Posted 26 August 2013 If Kingfox knocks a batch out I probably will too to be honest You could do it for me, and I could do it for you. And as Kentfoxsteve is your biggest fan, he can film it.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 26 August 2013 Posted 26 August 2013 Not bothered that he's likely to be off. Hardly been missed lately and was very average at best all last season. Was a total willy puller at Barnsley game too. Not a big loss, but think talent has been missed out on.
Jace Posted 26 August 2013 Posted 26 August 2013 I like Pearsons theory of play the players who want to play for the club, fans might not agree with him tactically much but something he is doing is working at the moment
NewburyFox Posted 26 August 2013 Posted 26 August 2013 Ill list the reasons he is an idiot if you like, but you Will blindly refuse to accept any of them. Will you follow him when he's managing in the lower leagues? Which is bigger to you, the club or NP? Which do you think NP thinks is bigger? Why is Pearson an idiot? Not denying that he's got his faults, but he's done a good job at this club and at Hull over the years and doesn't warrant being called an idiot or useless.

dannythefox Posted 27 August 2013 Posted 27 August 2013 I don't want him to go he's not been great for 6 months but he's shown class when he first came. I think he's a player Pearson could improve.

It's the intellectually vacant posters that resort to Ad hominem. As you point out you should have a balanced opinion of Pearson as he does have his flaws but he positives outweigh the negatives and generally done well for the club - he seems to genuinely want to best for the club and is working with his hands tied financially - no thanks (in part) to Sven .
Leicester_lad_92 Posted 27 August 2013 Posted 27 August 2013 Be gutted to see him go, young lad who has much more to offer, confidence has been knocked but a long season in store I think he could be something different we need out wide:) Ben Marshall na na na na na na
Tielemans63 Posted 27 August 2013 Posted 27 August 2013 Young footballers, these days, are pretty much a law unto themselves. They are paid crazy money from an early age. They nearly all lead lifestyles so far removed from 'Joe Public' that it must be like living in another world. This must make them hard to manage. The rumour was that, under Sven, the players did pretty much what they wanted. Under Pearson, I would suspect its very different. I would imagine what Pearson says goes. Good, IMO. The manager has a right to manage. IF this puts certain players nose out of joint, then sobeit. No player is bigger than the club. I have no idea whether Marshall, or anyone else for that matter, has fallen out with Pearson. But if they have, it's tough shit, grow up, accept that you might not be first choice, get on with it, or leave. It's that simple. I say this of ANY player at the club. Managing today's footballers must be tough work I would suspect. I'd love the money, sure, but the job itself? Not in a month of Sundays. Top post Col!
Ric Flair Posted 27 August 2013 Posted 27 August 2013 The Mail report today that he's off to Blackburn and we're getting Eliot Lee from West Ham on loan... an 18 year old striker. If this is true then Pearson can fook off. We don't need another poxy kid up front. We've got Schlupp, Hopper, Panayiouto and Dodoo if we want a back up striker.
Candidcamera Posted 27 August 2013 Posted 27 August 2013 I saw a feature on the u'21 England team going to a local youngsters training session and Marshall was articulate and very friendly. I would think that if he wishes to stay he will be a considerable asset in the future this season too when he gets into the team. I hope he stays.

Probably another Harry Kane.
