Guest Posted 31 August 2013 Posted 31 August 2013 He's an average midfielder. At the minute I'd agree but I think we all know and have seen he's capable of more
Finnegan Posted 31 August 2013 Posted 31 August 2013 I have no real opinion at the moment as I haven't seen him play - but reports from the South coast suggest he is very decent at this level. Not sure who you are expecting us to sign, but sometimes it's the lesser known players without the ego's who get the job done. I don't expect us to sign superstars, we've all seen Pearson's preference for transfers by now and a lot of them have been quite positive. I just don't buy in to the belief that a defensive midfielder was the biggest priority. I'd have liked either an alternative to Knockaert in the advanced play maker role (if we're persisting with a 3 man midfield) or a winger for cover if we're to go back to 4 - 4 - 2. We've Drinkwater, King, James and currently no sign of shifting Danns who at least gives us an extra body in the middle. Marshall, however, covered a number of positions where we're immensely thin. He might not have wanted to be here, he might not have been good enough, I'm not passing judgement on his departure but I do think we should have replaced him and not brought in another Mr. Solidandunspectacular. That said, Pearson/Walsh's squad building has been solid enough historically so we'll just have to wait and see. I think he deserves our confidence in that department.
C-man Posted 31 August 2013 Posted 31 August 2013 Just a thought but maybe we could judge whether a player is a good or bad signing after they've played a fvcking game?
darko2k7 Posted 31 August 2013 Posted 31 August 2013 The thing i'm starting to like most about this season is i have no idea which team/formation we'll play each . Makes such a change from last season when it must have been so much easier for opposition managers to prepare for us in training .
Bettsj2 Posted 31 August 2013 Posted 31 August 2013 Just a thought but maybe we could judge whether a player is a good or bad signing after they've played a fvcking game? Are you out of your fvcking mind?
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 31 August 2013 Posted 31 August 2013 Good backup for Logan Smith you plonker, back up for smith
sylofox Posted 31 August 2013 Posted 31 August 2013 Just a thought but maybe we could judge whether a player is a good or bad signing after they've played a fvcking game? A whole game your joking. 5mins at most and he'll be a world beater or shite.
Big Dave Posted 31 August 2013 Posted 31 August 2013 I take it he can't feature today? No - he was not registered in time. He will be available for the next match though.
Guest ttfn Posted 31 August 2013 Posted 31 August 2013 2 things @TPH you've been wondering why you get banned, if those posts on here to Col are indicative of your usual posting style then there is your answer. You out of the blue decided to insult him, and post very aggressively. It is unnecessary and makes this forum a less pleasant place to visit. Keep it up and you'll probably get banned again. Free and frank exchange of views is one thing. But personal insults is another. Second thing, I don't get this whole obsession with Bert some people have. So he knew about this before others great, he has a bit of inside knowledge, cool. But he doesn't deserve the shit he gets if he gets something wrong, nor does he deserve an arse rimming if he finds out something first. People are congratulating him like he signed Hammond himself. I treat any info from Bert or Toffee fox, the same way I treat the BBC sport gossip page. More accurate than a drunk down the pub, but a still far from concrete, and when they get something right, which is very rarely, I don't start thinking it is amazing and everything is gospel. It's posts like this that re-affirm my happiness that you didn't die in a car crash.
HoustonFox Posted 31 August 2013 Posted 31 August 2013 So, who gets the praise for this signing? Nigel, Walsh or the new DOF? I "heard" that Waslh does scout anymore and this signing was behind Nigel's back because the DOF does what he wants and the Thais want Nigel out... *sarcastic smiley*
Bryn Posted 31 August 2013 Posted 31 August 2013 Oh just seen this. A very handy little signing, a different, more defensive type of midfielder to what we have and with experience at this level.
dylanlegend Posted 31 August 2013 Posted 31 August 2013 Typical Leicester signing these days. Pretty solid but zero creativity along with our other 3 centre mids
theessexfox Posted 31 August 2013 Posted 31 August 2013 Typical Leicester signing these days. Pretty solid but zero creativity along with our other 3 centre mids Perhaps he can free up others to be more creative?
dylanlegend Posted 31 August 2013 Posted 31 August 2013 Perhaps he can free up others to be more creative? Hopefully but have we got the players to create the chances? I think Pearson is trying to do the best with the budget he's got and this is a solid signing. But our squad just doesn't have that but of quality you need to get promoted. Cardiff had Bellamy Hull had Aluko Palace had Zaha ....We have Vardy

It's A Knockeart! Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 Good Championship signing, should add some much needed experience and grit to the midfield.
AKCJ Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 What about this? Wood/Vardy Knocky-Nuge Dyer-------James-------RDL Hammond Miquel-Morgan-Moore Schmeichel

Freeman's Wharfer Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 Hearing good things from fans of his previous clubs which is promising, hopefully he delivers. We've been crying out for a ball-winner for too long...
