Harry - LCFC Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 Sounds a decent enough chap, not that you can garner too much from one minute interviews. I tend to pay a lot more attention to the attitude and personality of new players now having seen the contrast between pretty good and pretty bad in the last two seasons. Get the impression he'll be a good guy to have around.
Micky Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 Everyone was wishing for that exciting transfer on deadline day. Could it be that this is the deal that everyone will be talking about in the coming months. He could be a huge addition to the team.
dayday Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 If you seen EM sport,he looks like a player that can look after himself, some good goals from him as well.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 Need a winger, buy a defensive mid.
Fox92 Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 We've needed a ball winner so I hope he can add this. I thought he'd come in for Drinkwater, but now James is out I imagine Hammond will be straight in.
The God Emperor Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 Need a winger, buy a defensive mid. born to troll
steveherbe Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 Just a thought but maybe we could judge whether a player is a good or bad signing after they've played a fvcking game? Jesus mate, thats a bit radical. We got nearly 2 weeks to slag him off before we see how good/bad he is.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 Said when the Hammond signing was announced that I thought it was a decent signing. Have always thought that Hammond was a player who I'd rather see playing for us than aggen us....much like Jimmy Kebe and, dare I say, Kevin Doyle! Hammond's not spectacular but efficient and consistent, An experienced head in a young midfield. Could just be the signing that makes the difference fingers crossed
Jakemoore Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 Sounds like a good guy! And he has a familiar accent, to me that is. I don't know much about him but fingers crossed the experience he has will really help!
Bert Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 We've finally got the midfielder that people have been crying out for.
Guest Col city fan Posted 4 September 2013 Posted 4 September 2013 We've finally got the midfielder that people have been crying out for. No we haven't. Couple the DM with a real attack minded central midfielder, then we would have.
Ric Flair Posted 4 September 2013 Posted 4 September 2013 No we haven't. Couple the DM with a real attack minded central midfielder, then we would have. Some would argue we have that in Knockaert but the helmet we have in charge won't play him there.
Loggy88 Posted 4 September 2013 Posted 4 September 2013 Good signing for me. Will add a bit of steel in the middle, which is something I think we have lacked last couple of years. Experience too which is a good thing in a young team. Throw him straight in against Wigan next game. Up the foxes.
indierich06 Posted 4 September 2013 Posted 4 September 2013 No we haven't. Couple the DM with a real attack minded central midfielder, then we would have. You've been crying out for a DM for the best part of a year, then when we sign one, you're still not happy! Good old Col
Happy Fox Posted 4 September 2013 Posted 4 September 2013 Interesting comments albeit 2 years ago but still applicable http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/34194-Dean-Hammond-NOT-up-to-it I'm not a fan of Hammond never have been and was a bit annoyed how quickly he got the captains armband when he came here, but today I noticed how much he rallys the team he never let anyones head drop for even a secound he may not be a show stopper but he is exceptional in terms of keeping positive morale. Hammond was one of our better players today in my opinion. A player that always gets stuck in.
Dan Posted 4 September 2013 Posted 4 September 2013 Quite liked that 3-1-4-2 shout with Hammond as the '1', Would allow the midfield four to be far more attacking. 3-5-2 can definitely work for us - we just need to stop being so defensive with it and by defensive, I mean the fact it turns into 5-3-2 with 3 centre mids that lack creativity. Happy with this as a signing.
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 4 September 2013 Posted 4 September 2013 You've been crying out for a DM for the best part of a year, then when we sign one, you're still not happy! Good old Col He's even turned on his old mate Danns

Bert Posted 4 September 2013 Posted 4 September 2013 No we haven't. Couple the DM with a real attack minded central midfielder, then we would have. Well we have. People were moaning that we didn't have a ball winner.... And that's what we've got....
tomtom Posted 4 September 2013 Posted 4 September 2013 Well we have. People were moaning that we didn't have a ball winner.... And that's what we've got.... Not only have we gained a ball winner but he's got the experience of which we've been lacking in the middle too, .....looks to be a very good signing!
kingfox Posted 4 September 2013 Posted 4 September 2013 Forget this ball winning shit. The thing we lack is creativity, and if Pearson sticks with 3-5-2 or 4-3-3 we will not get promoted. Because we have no players, who can get the assists, Dyer and Knockaert are the main two, but he isn't playing them.
dpjfox Posted 4 September 2013 Posted 4 September 2013 showed 2 good goals on EMN one right foot shot one left, looks promising

kingfox Posted 4 September 2013 Posted 4 September 2013 Doesn't mean we don't have the players though does it. But with a flat 5-3-2/3-5-2 he is playing James - Drinkwater - King straight across the middle, where's the creativity coming from? 4-3-3 he sticks three forwards up front and pushes two out wide, why when it's shit? One of Knockaert or Dyer need to start, or maybe even both in a 4-4-2, else fans will keep on moaning about no creativity and a lot of performances this season will be frustrating to watch. We was poor against Birmingham, until Dyer and Knockaert came on and changed the game.
