TJB-fox Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 Clutching at straws here, but was anyone else slightly disappointed he celebrated when he scored against us. You see players scoring against their old clubs and not celebrating? Seeing as we were the team that hauled him out of the screwfix league, and it was nigel that turned him into a solid, championship player, I was a little bit gutted he celebrated. Not a massive issue but ive run out of things to moan about haha;)
Fox in the North Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 Really not fussed as he's been away for a few years now. I have no problem with ex players celebrating against us, but it is a nice touch of respect for the club and fans if they don't,
Haydos Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 Not fussed, it's been a while and he's probably enjoying his football there. A goal's a goal.
Out Foxed Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 we got rid of him. not surprised he did. been a long time since he was here.
Monsell1976 Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 No, we are just an old employer, and he has new loyalties now.
Guest ttfn Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 Personally I find it ridiculous that players don't celebrate against former clubs. Fair enough if you played 300 times for them and were a cult hero or legend, but otherwise just get on with it. SWP not celebrating against Chelsea last year was a case in point. He spent 5 or so years there barely playing and hadn't played for them for almost another 5 and he didn't celebrate scoring his first goal in ages! Mental.
NewburyFox Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 I was disappointed too, but to be fair to him he clapped our fans at the end.
AKCJ Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 He wasn't ever really a big player for us. But we did pull him out of the rough and he wouldn't be anything like the player he is if we didn't sign him.
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 I don't buy this whole "shouldn't celebrate against a former team", he's not with us anymore, has every right to celebrate, I would.
Winnershfox Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 I liked Michael Morrison. He was a solid defender and from memory it was Sven that shipped him out. He used to weigh in with the odd goal too. Would have liked to see him progress with us.
Zingari Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 Anyone with a shred of decency would have sobbed uncontrollably for the rest of the game !! you're a disgrace Morrison !!!
marbelladave Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 I have no time for all this 'respect' business, to me it is all bollox. If you score against an old team where you had a good time, learned your trade, etc then celebrate but no need to take the piss. As MM did yesterday, absolutely fine by me, good goal worth a bit of celebration. It wasn't as if he did 'the full Adebeyor', be interesting to see what happens when Beckford gets his goal against us.......
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 I can't see anything with the lad celebrating his goal. It must be a good feeling to score against a club who didn't wish to retain you.
Danizen Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 If it was Heskey or Muzzy, or someone with that kind of status, I'd be disappointed but 90% of the players we've had over the last ten years are uncaring journeymen. They aren't bothered about Leicester, I'm not bothered by them. I found it a bit weird when Kermocunt didn't celebrate at our place and would've had the same reaction if Morrison didn't.
Matt Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 He's left us, he's not our player, he just used to play for us. Good luck to him and move on. I really do think some of our fans harp on about the past way too much. Mind you this is no where near as bad as when Hume came back to play against us...He got more support than some of our own players that day, embarrassing.

When I went Charlton away last season in the 2-1 defeat Kermorgant scored in the far end and ran to the half way line towards our end doing the shush celebration.
Fox92 Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 Not a massive issue... I like Morrison, clapped him when his name was read out and he applauded our fans back. But as soon as the whistle goes he is playing for Charlton Athletic. He scored, fair play to him, so he celebrates. If it was someone like Izzet and he celebrated in front of us (although he never would) I'd be more 'angry'.
Jace Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 Think it is hard to have any bad feelings against Morrison when Kermorgant is playing.
Dan Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 If we don't like Michael Morrison & Yann Kermorgant celebrating then we should've defended better. The vast majority of these situations of the player not celebrating really is a load of bollocks and it's so fake.
Corky Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 He should celebrate, he's scored for his current team and an important goal. Can't abide this "respect" nonsense, just celebrate as you normally would.
Guest seanfox778 Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 I remember being gutted when Dickov scored that penalty against us for Blackburn and he celebrated but since then I don't care, if you score a goal you deserve to celebrate it regardless of who it's against.
Leicesterpool Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 To be honest you don't blame him, he wasn't particularly treated well by us. Same for Yann really, it is sad though most of recent departures left with a cloud.
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 I think it's a natural and instinctive reaction to celebrate any goal, and more so if you're not a regular goal scorer. No probs with MM celebrating as he didn't rub it in our faces with Drinkwater like ear cupping. Kermit on the other hand really milks it & why wouldn't he after the abuse we give him? 3 in 3 against us now, maybe we inspire him to better performances :-/
Bayfox Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 I was more disappointed sven chose to sell him and hobbs and replace them with st.ledger and mills.
