Darkon84 Posted 20 September 2013 Posted 20 September 2013 English folk are too blinded by Wilshere. I rate Ramsey above him THIS! I've been saying that for a while and tend to get dodgy looks half the time. Wilshire is supposed to be England's saviour, shining light, and next creative genius, but I just don't rate him. Not enough assists, not enough goals, and a questionable temperament. Ramsey over him every time.
Finnegan Posted 20 September 2013 Posted 20 September 2013 Right, so, while we're all agreeing - Jon Williams is better than that albino from Derby, you'd take Bellers over Milner, Bale over either Walcott or AOC and Joe Allen over, er, Scott Parker! Plus we all love Andy King. See, told you I wasn't being ridiculous.
Guest MattP Posted 20 September 2013 Posted 20 September 2013 Having a magnificent season but lets see him sustain it for a while before we have him ahead of Lampard, Cole, Gerrard etc
Uncle Albert Posted 20 September 2013 Posted 20 September 2013 Oh dear God. He wasn't Arsenal's best player at all the back end of last season, the Arsenal fans even turned on him at one point. I'm sure people just make things up on here to make their points look stronger. Yeah, Ramsay has started this season well, very well infact, scored some goals. Is he the best midfielder in the Premier League? No. Is he even the best midfielder in his own team? No. The horrible thing for Ramsay is when everyone is back to full match fitness at Arsenal, as soon as Ramsay doesn't carry this form on he's going to be dropped, simple as that really. Not a chance will Wenger play Ramsay in a more advanced position over Ozil, Cazorla, Wilshire.. Defensively in midfield it's going to be Arteta or Flamini.

Stick to Liverpool, Lofty, at least you can spell most of their players' names. Ramsey is not an attacking midfielder, he shouldn't be in "an advanced position" like Cazorla (actually a winger, naturally) and Ozil. He's a creative, deeper lying central midfielder that likes the odd burst forward to score. He's most comparable in the side to Wilshere or perhaps Arteta. The vast majority of people who actually watch Arsenal regularly not only hold Ramsey in very high regard but also have him back (as he was before his leg break) ahead of Jack Wilshere in the pecking order. Arsenal fans (proper ones, season ticket holders) want him playing behind Ozil. The only people slating Ramsey are the biased and bitter fans of other clubs, who weren't watching when he was off form out of position and aren't watching now he's getting back to form. They're just repeating the same shit rhetoric they've been blabbing for the last year or so, thinking themselves qualified because they watch Match of the Day, Soccer Saturday and the odd game on Sky. Sure, that and playing too much FIFA makes you more qualified than Wenger or the countless ex professionals queuing up to sing his praises. Okay, Matt is right, he isn't in the same class as Lamps and Gerrard yet, but he's also got about a decade less experience in a position that's all about on pitch intelligence and wisdom. The kid has an enormous amount of promise and, if he was English instead of Welsh, there'd be no question at all who the best young CM in Britain was. Everyone would except his rightful title unbegrudging.

Everyone would except his rightful title unbegrudging. Hold on a minute. Are you an Arsenal fan? What makes you 'qualified' to form your opinion on him? Surely you're not basing it on his international games? Because that would obviously be daft. So i'm assuming you're basing it on Match of the Day, Soccer Saturday and the like. I think everyone can agree that he's got a fair bit of potential. He's playing in a decent Arsenal side keeping players like Arteta out of the team. But to say he's the second best British player or that he's the best young CM in Britain is being a bit O.T.T. Barkley is a far better prospect, and i'd say that even if he was Welsh.
Uncle Albert Posted 20 September 2013 Posted 20 September 2013 Oh shut up Finners, like the lad above has said what gives you an expert opinion on him? Because you watch Wales? Or like us you see him when Arsenal play live on TV or on Match of the Day. A little hypocritical. Sorry I spelt his name wrong. Cazorla was a winger, Arsenal don't deploy him there, Cazorla was in the form of his career playing centrally, RamsEy hasn't got close to that form that Cazorla produced at the beginning of last season. Even with Cazorla playing wide of a front three, I can still see RamsEy struggling to get in the middle three, once his form dips. His form will dip, that's only natural as well. Wenger would opt for Arteta/Flamini, Wilshire and Ozil. Simple as that Finners, you have your bias views because he's a bright prospect for your poor Footballing nation. Piss funny you also keep having use Arsenal fans who are 'proper' ones with Season tickets to try and justify what you say, like I said they're the same Arsenal fans who booed RamsEy last season because he was poor. But suppose when your Country has such limited Footballers of the higher quality then you need to cling on to any half decent Footballer you have and make him out to be a world beater.. Never know if you carry on Real Madrid may offer £7million for him.
Finnegan Posted 20 September 2013 Posted 20 September 2013 I know whats coming here Not at all, I've said my piece. My last post wasn't an argument it was a lesson and I can't force the ignorant to learn. Horse to water, etc.
Hugo Sanchez Posted 20 September 2013 Author Posted 20 September 2013 Albert is the sort of person, who will tell ya. That Stevie G is the greatest midfielder to ever exist. Aaron Ramsey isn't rated because he's welsh and he had a bad injury and then got played out of position. Whilshire who has been crap since he got injured, still gets the big wankfest. Aaron Ramsey will be a massive reason in arsenal winning the league this season and at least albert you'll get to watch Liverpool on channel 5 next season.

Giroud Cazorla, Ozil Walcott Arteta Ramsey Arteta can pick his passes and do what he does best in reading the game and timing things. Ramsey will help out and make the late runs to help further up too. To me, that's Arsenal's best attack/midfield.
Stadt Posted 20 September 2013 Posted 20 September 2013 An inform Diaby is a behemoth, better than Wilshere, Arteta and Ramsey.
Jimothy Posted 20 September 2013 Posted 20 September 2013 An inform Diaby is a behemoth, better than Wilshere, Arteta and Ramsey. Diaby will never string three games together before breaking again though, so he's irrelevant.
Guest MattP Posted 20 September 2013 Posted 20 September 2013 Diaby in the same breath as Cazorla, Ramsey, Ozil etc

At what point you ignorant little boy have I compared Ramsey to any Liverpool player? Not once, I'm more than capable of discussing Ramsey and other Arsenal players. Don't try and turn you argument around regarding Ramsey to Liverpool FC, it's kind of pathetic and makes your arguments regarding Ramsey look very weak.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 20 September 2013 Posted 20 September 2013 this thread like going back to 2009, class
Fox92 Posted 21 September 2013 Posted 21 September 2013 An inform Diaby is a behemoth, better than Wilshere, Arteta and Ramsey. Wilshere is so good at holding the ball, as well as running with the ball. His close control and first touch are always excellent. Only thing he really lacks is pace.
Aus Fox Posted 22 September 2013 Posted 22 September 2013 Would I be totally shot down if I suggested Leigton Bains as better and possibly the 2nd best British player right now?
Finnegan Posted 22 September 2013 Posted 22 September 2013 Would I be totally shot down if I suggested Leigton Bains as better and possibly the 2nd best British player right now? Probably, especially given you're only bringing it up after he's scored a couple of (albeit excellent) free kicks. He's not even England's best left back. I hate Ashley Cole for all the same reasons he's not even popular with his own compatriots but he's still a quality player. All the fawning over him being the best left back in the world is bollocks but he is the best in the British isles. Baines is an excellent Premiership player but let's not go nuts.

Ashley Cole was the best left back in the world for a number of years. The competition was hardly intense.
ScouseFox Posted 22 September 2013 Posted 22 September 2013 Ashley Cole has been comfortably the best left back in the world for about 10 years. Starting to decline a bit now though, sadly.
ScouseFox Posted 22 September 2013 Posted 22 September 2013 Why's he only second? Who's better than him?
