Recommended Posts

Who do we want? Who will we get?

Here's who's in the hat already:

Spurs

Burnley

Hull

Man City

Southampton

Sunderland

Chelsea

Norwich

West Ham

Fulham

And here's who play tonight:

Brum vs Swansea

Man U vs Liverpool

Newcastle vs Leeds

Tranmere vs Stoke

West Brom vs Arsenal

Me? I want Spurs at home.

Normally I always want to get a beatable team at home, to give us the best chance of progression. I've always thought that wanting to get a 'big fixture' as soon as possible was just a bit crass and small-time.

However, for the first time in years, I would be pretty happy to get a draw against one of the bigger sides in the 4th round, as long as we are at home. The thing is, despite the fact that the team is doing pretty well at the minute, despite the fact that *whisper it quietly* we can actually play some decent stuff when we want to, there has been a slow, remorseless wave of apathy that has descended over the KP stadium this year. I'm not sure if it's the slight drop in crowds so far, or the fact that fewer and fewer people are sitting in the Kop, or the gradual disillusionment of many due to increasing commercialisation...

I'm not sure what it is, but I know it's been some time since I went to a home game and really looked forward to it. So I wouldn't mind a big club at home this year, if only to see the ground full again, a decent away following, and our lot actually up for it from the word go. Chelsea or Spurs would be ideal

For the trip, Manchester United or Manchester City away would be good for me... Preferably United though, as I haven't been to Old Trafford for many years now.

In terms of progression, Burnley wouldn't be to bad if we could draw them at home. We've done well so far and are only a win away from the quarters. I hope we're taking this seriously, would love to do what Bradford did.

I think we are due a decent draw after a string of shit ones in all cups.

I'd take a premier league club home or away bar the shitty ones like dull, Southampton etc.

But we'll probably end up with someone like Burnley away.

Tranmere away.

I've been before but I want an away tie as I don't fancy going two months without an away game (missing Watford & Ipswich), and we'd probably win there.

There's every chance we'll be the lowest ranked side left in by the end of the night. I'd love to draw Newcastle - attractive tie and it's actually winnable IMO.

Hate those kind of draws. A similar-sized club who happen to have a better team than us at this moment in time. The tie has the reduced chance of progression that accompanies playing a side in the league above, but with none of the glamour...

This. Someone like Southampton or Norwich (we're bound to get someone along those lines) would be fvcking shite.
