lavrentis Posted 12 October 2013 Author Posted 12 October 2013 Sacking him is the only option! (hopefully) Can only be the way, what he said is unforgivable and truly offensive to everyone.
Fox92 Posted 12 October 2013 Posted 12 October 2013 Where was he 'racist'? The term 'thats racist' does annoy me now, it's overused a hell of a lot.
Matt Posted 12 October 2013 Posted 12 October 2013 I'm not rising to it. I've made my comments on the matter in the other thread.
MooseBreath Posted 12 October 2013 Posted 12 October 2013 You just can't go around calling people builders I'm afraid. KS3 history contains several examples of builders being mistreated. Calling people builders in this day and age carries clear racist connotations and is all the evidence I need to declare Chiles a secret member of the KKK. Skin him alive, the evil scum.

You are such a cvnt, but are at least an amusing one.
Webbo Posted 12 October 2013 Posted 12 October 2013 It's xenophobic surely, Polish isn't a race. It isn't?
Finnaldo Posted 12 October 2013 Posted 12 October 2013 It isn't? Polish is a nationality, you could be a Caucasian or Black Pole.
Rincewind Posted 12 October 2013 Posted 12 October 2013 Missed it on the actual programme. Stupid remark to make. If it was said on HIGNFY it would have been laughed if but this was a sports programme which may have had Polish viewers. It wasn't the 'builders' remark but the jokey way it was said in reference to Poles. Saying that if it was not pointed out or a complaint had been made I would be no wiser and it would have passwd as just another stupid comment from a TV presenter. At this rate we will run out of them.
stix Posted 12 October 2013 Posted 12 October 2013 Massive overreaction. Terrible pundit, never racist though. Not guilty.
DennisNedry Posted 12 October 2013 Posted 12 October 2013 A LOT of Polish immigrants work in building and construction (and are damn good workers at that) so what's supposed to be racist or insulting about what Chiles said?
Vacamion Posted 12 October 2013 Posted 12 October 2013 He goes in and out of Catherine Tate - he took her off a member of Take That. An unashamed West Midlander who supports an unfashionable club. A fat dude with geek tendencies made good. And, as an ITV football person, he's not Roy Keane, Andy Townsend or Gareth Southgate. What's not to like? Frankly, if he blacked up, mocked the holocaust and dropped the N-bomb whilst doing a poo on a map of Poland wearing a Hitler moustache, he's still a better human being than the rest of the talentless know-nothing shitebags employed by ITV's so-called football coverage. Crack on, Chilo...
Jimothy Posted 12 October 2013 Posted 12 October 2013 Massive overreaction. Terrible pundit, never racist though. Not guilty. Not a pundit, he's a presenters.
I am Rod Hull Posted 12 October 2013 Posted 12 October 2013 I`m thinking of getting a takeaway curry, can I say that it`ll be cooked by Bangladeshis? or would that be a stupid comment?
Captain... Posted 12 October 2013 Posted 12 October 2013 It's xenophobic surely, Polish isn't a race. Neither is black, but racism isn't limited to race, it is about negative stereotyping of groups of people based that can be based on nationality, skin colour, ethnicity. Anyway clearly not racist, no more than the Norwegian commentator saying that Maggie Thatcher et al will be weeping when they beat us. It's not negative, it's not insulting and it isn't racist.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 12 October 2013 Posted 12 October 2013 It's xenophobic. adhering to stereotypes
absolutelegend Posted 13 October 2013 Posted 13 October 2013 to call a man racist for making a remark like that is sickening and worrying. it was a nothing comment with no malice behind it whatsoever, any reasonable person can see that. i can't believe this is being written about by our country's gutter press.
The God Emperor Posted 13 October 2013 Posted 13 October 2013 social justice warriors in overreacting to harmless comment shock
Bugg Posted 13 October 2013 Posted 13 October 2013 What he said made me burst out laughing when I heard it on TV (incidentally that was probably the only funny thing he has said). Massive overreaction and this is coming from someone who is probably seen as a "lefty" (at least by this forum anyway)
