Bluearmy 316 Posted 2 December 2013 Posted 2 December 2013 It looks like Wigan are going to sack their manager today. Anyone think they could go for Nigel Pearson with only having 6 months left on his contract? We need to get his contract sorted ASAP.
Mack Posted 2 December 2013 Posted 2 December 2013 Nigel is where he wants to be and with all the hard work he has put in why would he want to leave to go and sort someone else's mess out. We look every bit like top two contenders, the Premier League beckons for the Foxes with Nigel at the helm. Would he walk away now? Why?
Guest Bilo Posted 2 December 2013 Posted 2 December 2013 Why would he go from Leicester in first place to Wigan in 14th place?
Guest ttfn Posted 2 December 2013 Posted 2 December 2013 Why would he go from Leicester in first place to Wigan in 14th place? ££££££
Guest ttfn Posted 2 December 2013 Posted 2 December 2013 I don't see Nigel as that type. As it stands he's unemployed in six months.
Mack Posted 2 December 2013 Posted 2 December 2013 As it stands he's unemployed in six months. And I think we all know he'll get a new contract, unless our owners are completely stupid.
foxfanazer Posted 2 December 2013 Posted 2 December 2013 Was more worried about the Fulham job than Wigan. Glad they got somebody straight away. Any championship/lower end prem job that comes up now will have us slightly worried but I trust Nige and the owners will do the right thing
LCFC FOX Posted 2 December 2013 Posted 2 December 2013 If someone came in for him we would have to offer him a contract or he may well go
Webbo Posted 2 December 2013 Posted 2 December 2013 Nige is on a good wage here and I don't think he's type of manager Wigan would go for.
Crinklyfox Posted 2 December 2013 Posted 2 December 2013 A manager is judged by his abilities and his achievements. As it stands NP has the possibility of raising his status by getting City promoted this season, after spending next to nothing on the team this year. If he manages it he'll be able to do better than Wigan, and get a better contract. So I don't think he'll go.
Foxy harry Posted 2 December 2013 Posted 2 December 2013 I don't see Nigel as that type. that might be what hull fans thought
Stadt Posted 2 December 2013 Posted 2 December 2013 He's worked hard to sort out the mess here in both his stints and now it's a good possibility that we are going to get promoted, so why would Nige go and get involved with Wigan who are in 14th.
Happy Fox Posted 2 December 2013 Posted 2 December 2013 NP would be f**king daft to leave us for Wigan.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 2 December 2013 Posted 2 December 2013 Unless Holloway takes time out I can see him going to Wigan
Fox92 Posted 2 December 2013 Posted 2 December 2013 His contract runs out in the summer. That's the only influencing aspect I can think of. Nige is not an idiot, and I couldn't see him leaving for footballing reasons (we are top of the league etc)
Kitchandro Posted 2 December 2013 Posted 2 December 2013 Let's get real, Wigan are still punching above their weight as a club. Pearson isn't about to commit career suicide.
Larry_LCFC Posted 2 December 2013 Posted 2 December 2013 Think you will find he was sacked last night and we already have a thread for this...
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 2 December 2013 Posted 2 December 2013 Think you will find he was sacked last night and we already have a thread for this... That's Dave jones?
separator Posted 2 December 2013 Posted 2 December 2013 Mike Phelan and Holloway are favourites with the bookies. No sign of NP on the list with Paddy Power http://www.paddypower.com/football/football-specials/manager-specials?ev_oc_grp_ids=689660
bovril Posted 2 December 2013 Posted 2 December 2013 Strange sacking after less than half a season and with a game in hand.
iamafox Posted 2 December 2013 Posted 2 December 2013 Maybe Wigan should convince Paul Jewell to come back?
GingerrrFox Posted 2 December 2013 Posted 2 December 2013 Owen Coyle is one of the worst manager's in English football. In less than 6 months he has turned technically one of the best football sides in to an average hoof ball team. He is everything that is wrong in our game. Oh and Tony Pulis, ****.
Lionator Posted 2 December 2013 Posted 2 December 2013 Surely we have more money than Wigan taking FFP out of the equation.
Ric Flair Posted 2 December 2013 Posted 2 December 2013 I can see Phelan getting the job, he's cut his teeth under Ferguson and that usually tempts chairman. I reckon they could do a Wolves if they're not careful
