BigWesMorgan Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 Whether you want any or not...Who do you think are realistic signings? John Guidetti - With ManC current form he won't ever get into the first team Almen Abdi - Watford are on the down Nakhi Wells - Decent goalscorer Sylvan EB - Powerhouse! Would he influence the team?
Mark_w Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 I don't think anyone is a realistic signing right now. If the owners were going to invest more money surely they'd be getting the manager and players tied down to new contracts by now?
Nick Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 Pearson will go after a striker in Jan. He practically said so in the pre-match interview.
Nick Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 Messi, Neymar or Ibrahimovic. Messi would never fit into our formation effectively but either of the other two might get a seat on the bench.

Freeman's Wharfer Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 Messi would never fit into our formation effectively but either of the other two might get a seat on the bench. True. I can't see a player in better form in world football than David Nugent at the minute.

Good point, but they probably don't rate our managers/player like the fans do... We make excuses and overrate our team/manager every day of the week, they can all be replaced with better alternatives, obviously it takes time, but I wouldn't worry too much, I think this is going down the road of letting those players contracts run out, then replacing manager and letting them build a new squad IMO Anyone as successful as our owners know how to run things their way, business.... I could probably see us staying down, and having a new manager and new players next year tbh
Jimothy Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 Messi, Neymar or Ibrahimovic. Are you mental?!?!? That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever read! What do you mean or? You mean and!!!
Russell sprout Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 Are you mental?!?!? That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever read! What do you mean or? You mean and!!! It's called sarcasm?
Brooksy Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 Messi, Neymar or Ibrahimovic. Ibra? Seriously? We need youth.
kingfox Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 Patrick Bamford(Loan) And someone capable of getting assists

And if their plan is to wave goodbye to Nigel Pearson, Wes Morgan, Kasper Schmeichel etc. at the end of the year then God help us.
Jimothy Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 It's called sarcasm? Erm I know! Did you read my whole post??? I was joking saying he should have said Messi, Neymar AND Ibrahimovich, not Messi, Neymar OR Ibrahimovich!

But if you think the future of this club is those players only, god help us, plenty could replace them.... Don't rate any of our players more than championship standard, there are a couple with potential, but they are still unproven.... So thinking replacing them would ruin us is ludicrous, buying them in the first place has not got us where was intended (yet) Come May there will be plenty of player opportunities, as well as manager ones... I'm not saying I particularly want them to go, just not bothered if they did.... I can categorically guarantee that this years starting 11 will look very very different in 2 seasons... Regardless of what league we are in
Monsell1976 Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 Somebody who can actually score goals would be the top of my list, then if the right player comes up, add a bit of strength in depth.

Regardless of what league we are in We may be able to replace them, but recent history would suggest that it's a big risk. Not being bothered about the manager and players who have us challenging for automatic promotion, leaving for nothing, is absolutely ridiculous though.

They have us challenging at the moment, time will tell if they still so come May, I'm not convinced. I'll still support them throughout, I just think our highest earners are completely overrated by us, and they are the reason FFP has us by the bollocks, at eh end of the day everyone is calling for us to sign new players, but the fact of the matter is we can't because of FFP unless it's a cheap free transfer or a loan, The only way we can bring new in is to let others go, we're lucky to be where we are, results don't lie but we have been fortunate to get here with the way we've gone about games
Stadt Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 SEB is quite stocky but he's 5 ft 8 so he's not exactly a powerhouse.
