He could be the one to put away all the chances that we create. He'd also settle straight in, he knows the place, the gaffer, Kingy, Dyer (possibly some others?).

He was alright at Hull for half a season but in total for us he only scored around 20 Championship goals in about 4 seasons. Jesus he was still a young lad playing in a dreadful team in our relegation year/relegation battles. Last four seasons (discounting his one out injured) are fairly respectable. Certainly better than a few strikers we've had and have! 12 in 35 - 09/10 (Us) 11 in 37 - 10/11 (Hull) 16 in 48 - 11/12 (Hull) 4 in 11 - This year (Wednesday) (appearances include cup games but not goals)

volpeazzurro Posted 16 December 2013 Posted 16 December 2013 The amount of loose balls that have gone begging in the penalty area courtesy of Vardy and Dyers hard graft have been numerous, yet not a player nearby to capitalise. Nugent doesn't gamble enough for me and is shot shy and is not the sort of player we need at this moment in time imo. Fryatt would be sniffing around and is a far better natural finisher than Nugent for me every day of the week. Wouldn't perhaps be good enough for the Premiership but neither is Nugent by a long mile!

But as the stats show he doesn't give us a greater goal threat than Nugent as some have said on here.

Remember the season before he left (I think) he signed a new contract and everyone was absolutely over the moon by it, he banged in about 30, and the following season scored like it was easy until he got injured, then left for hull... At the end of the day it doesn't matter if he's not lit the world since, he's good under Nigel and record speaks for itself. If true. Welcome back matty.

Schlupp deserves a run for me. It's now or never for him really. If he can't get in the team with Wood out he never will. Scored some decent goals at the back end of last season.

Dickov22 Posted 16 December 2013 Posted 16 December 2013 Always got frustrated with Fryatt because he'd usually make it easy for defenders to mark him. He doesn't put himself about enough. If he played with Vardy though, that wouldn't be a problem. He could certainly finish.

But in comparison to the teams each player has played with, I'm sure Fryatt would fancy his chances of matching Nugent. Our team is much stronger now than it was back then, and we're nowhere near clinical enough in front of goal. Would be interesting to see Fryatt back, how well he'd do we don't know. No harm in getting the lad in though, at all.
