LCFC FOX Posted 20 December 2013 Posted 20 December 2013 I can see him being the sort of player Nigel will try and get. But for me hes past it
Zingari Posted 20 December 2013 Posted 20 December 2013 i'd sooner we get someone in with a bit more experience .
Corky Posted 20 December 2013 Posted 20 December 2013 I'll be so pleased when he actually retires and we don't have to have this discussion every 3 weeks. In fairness Webbo, they say the same about you on the PainterandDecoratorTalk forum I wouldn't mind him joining actually for a few months.

StanSP Posted 20 December 2013 Posted 20 December 2013 I'd appreciate if the mods close this because this is never going to happen and it's best to nip it in the bud as soon as possible.

StanSP Posted 20 December 2013 Posted 20 December 2013 we're on decorating puns , not gardeners puns  By bud, I clearly meant beer while taking a break from your decorating...
Langston Posted 20 December 2013 Posted 20 December 2013 I always thought his name was Phillips (90+3)
Bilsthorpe Blue Posted 20 December 2013 Posted 20 December 2013 By bud, I clearly meant beer while taking a break from your decorating... Not too many I hope or you will be plastered!
XLM Posted 20 December 2013 Posted 20 December 2013 got 6 goals in 14 games for palace last season. Honestly think he would have buried one of the chances we created in the last 20 mins against burnley too. Could be worth a punt - far more prolific player than Dickov too before comparisons are made
Happy Fox Posted 20 December 2013 Posted 20 December 2013 He is a very clinical striker certainly more prolific than GTF!
Jobyfox Posted 20 December 2013 Posted 20 December 2013 He would probably be a 20-30 minutes a game player, but if he's a game changer then who cares? I'd be happy to take a punt on him and would have more confidence in him making a difference in the last 20 mins than our current crop of strikers.

He could grab as many goals in that playing time as he wants. Some 'fans' won't be satisfied because not enough distance was covered in those final 20-30 minutes.
hackneyfox Posted 20 December 2013 Posted 20 December 2013 He could grab as many goals in that playing time as he wants. Some 'fans' won't be satisfied because not enough distance was covered in those final 20-30 minutes. Are other 'fans' not allowed an opinion then?
Jobyfox Posted 20 December 2013 Posted 20 December 2013 Are other 'fans' not allowed an opinion then? Of course they are. Especially with a player like this who is in his forties. It's always going to be a bit of a gamble and carefully weighing up the pros and cons.
StanSP Posted 20 December 2013 Posted 20 December 2013 Are other 'fans' not allowed an opinion then? Ah, didn't take you long . It's like you were waiting for me! They're allowed an opinion. But when the opinion is a bit less significant than his goal-getting, it's bound to be targeted. If he gets a last-minute winner to seal our route back in to the Premier League as the OP put it, would you still bring up his 'running around' ability or be joyous in the fact he got that winning goal? I don't even know why I'm bloody discussing this. He's not gonna come here .

Some, yes some the majority who have their brains switched on would value a player that would make an impact coming off the bench!
StanSP Posted 20 December 2013 Posted 20 December 2013 Some, yes some the majority who have their brains switched on would value a player that would make an impact coming off the bench! I agree!
Langston Posted 20 December 2013 Posted 20 December 2013 Elliott Bennett must be returning from injury soon? Be a great loan move if we could snatch him at some point between now and May. Dean Cox from Orient has always seemed a little too good for third tier football, too. I'd take him in a heartbeat.
