I wouldn't. I don't think they're better than what we've got. Morgan > Hobbs Nugent > Fryatt.

 

Fryatt didn't even get a look in at Hull.

He was also injured for more than six months whilst being at Hull. I would like to see any other player hitting his previous form quicker than that.

Coming out with rubbish like Morgan > Hobbs just helps nothing. How about pair them together? Morgan > Brown, and Hobbs > Moore.

 

Hobbs also has 5 years to 'catch up' to Morgan, not that i believe he is worse anyway.

I'm not one to speculate on possible signings although in Pearson's position I'd probably have been looking at borrowing an emerging striker from a top club rather than someone already well documented.

 

Fryatt wouldn't be the worst option by any means and I agree with a lot of what Grewks says. But I'd be wanting someone who posed more of a threat in the air than Fryatt. It was a problem area within the team when he was here before and we seem to have done nothing to improve the situation since.

 

I know our dead ball delivery's not the best and it's been rightly mentioned that the ball needs to be played in faster and with more spin and accuracy. But even that wouldn't be enough without anyone seriously challenging at the other end.

 

For me this is bread-and-butter training ground stuff. No, our coaches can't make Derek Dougan's out of sightseers.

 

But they can oversee better delivery, work on the kind of imaginative movement that might magic some space for the nippier players and instil the determination in attackers to make their presence felt whatever.

I always thought Wood was good in the air before we signed him. He even scored a header the first game I saw him play for us against Hull. It's as if we've turned him into a jack of no trades. 

 

Nugent's probably our best headerer of the ball but they're normally hollywood headers. 

 

I agree we're missing someone who has natural heading ability.

With regards to an aerial threat, i am a key believer that it is 99% delivery.

 

Just look at how many headers van persie has scored over the past couple of years. He is not the biggest threat in the air, but the delivery is great, and as you say, it is whipped and fizzed in as opposed to floated.

 

Every single home game we get behind teams countless times, only to float a ball into the box which is headed clear. The ball shouldn't even be put in at a height which is suitable for heading away, but that is another matter. The only times we used to score goals like this was the last Pearson reign. When King would get on the end of a gallagher cross, or gally himself would tuck one away from 20 yards after the ball had been headed clear.

 

 

These are 2 areas of our game we should look to improve before signing players. Our delivery into the box, and our ability to pick up the scraps on the edge of the box as there is ALWAYS an opposition player there to clear it.

Easily my favourite City player of the last 10 years.

Would be delighted if he came back, even if only for a couple of months.

People have said "he's a good finisher" and I'm not sure I agree - he's not a bad finisher but really his game is built around touch, movement and being in the right place at the right time.

I loved the wasp the season we got promoted back to the premier league, but the time Fryatt scored those back to back hattricks was the most excited I've been by a Leicester player for a long time.
