bovril Posted 16 December 2013 Posted 16 December 2013 :xmaslaugh: I quite like old Fryup but when I hear something along the lines of: "we need a clinical finisher, get Fryatt in", I do wonder....
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 16 December 2013 Posted 16 December 2013 hahahaha please be true! du du duuu duuuu!

Collymore Posted 16 December 2013 Posted 16 December 2013 Probably the best striker we've had at the club over the last 10 years
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 16 December 2013 Posted 16 December 2013 A proven goal scorer & someone that could potentially convert some of the many chances we create. I'd take a punt on him.
1972 Fox Posted 16 December 2013 Posted 16 December 2013 Fryatt not the answer imo. We should be setting our sights higher if possible. Hoping Pearson/Walsh can come up with a better option.
Thracian Posted 16 December 2013 Posted 16 December 2013 He still knows where the net is but I bet he's still got the same limitations. Not a good idea.
Johnny Cash Posted 16 December 2013 Posted 16 December 2013 Fryatt can swing after he celebrated against us!
Babylon Posted 16 December 2013 Posted 16 December 2013 He still knows where the net is but I bet he's still got the same limitations. Not a good idea. Do you think we'll be able to sign someone without limitations? What limitations are and aren't acceptable?
teblin Posted 16 December 2013 Posted 16 December 2013 Do you think we'll be able to sign someone without limitations? What limitations are and aren't acceptable? Well if all they do is score it's not good enough!
Devonfox1884 Posted 16 December 2013 Posted 16 December 2013 Probably the best striker we've had at the club over the last 10 years Barry hayles...
Corky Posted 16 December 2013 Posted 16 December 2013 Fryatt can swing after he celebrated against us! I know, can't stand players celebrating scoring. Not natural or respectful.
Alf Bentley Posted 16 December 2013 Posted 16 December 2013 Even though this sounds like bollocks. I wouldn't mind Fryatt back to be honest. Decent goal scorer at this level. Agree with all 3 sentences there, Manwell. Though I surprise myself in finding that the first sentence is the one that I'm a little doubtful about. Come to think of it, it wouldn't surprise me at all, even if the original poster has quoted no sources and is probably bullshitting..... Maybe NP might remember that Fryatt scored a fair number of goals under his management at this level (13 in 09-10) in a team that was much more limited creatively (Howard as strike partner, Wellens and Oakley in the "engine room", Gallagher on the wing, some combination of Morrison/Nielson/McGivern/Berner at full back....some decent players in a team that over-achieved, but very low on creativity compared to the current team/squad). Where are the design plans, Featherman? Your rumour needs some better engineering if it is going to fly, Featherman. Do you have anything to get your rumour off the ground, to give it give it wings, or was it just a little flutter of feathers in a vacuum?
Babylon Posted 16 December 2013 Posted 16 December 2013 Well if all they do is score it's not good enough! Bloody goalscorers who needs them.
dog_4 Posted 16 December 2013 Posted 16 December 2013 yeah the cheesy arrogant grin on his face when he ran behind the goal to rub it in wasn't cool. Especially after all the support he received from the fans after his broken jaw. **** of Fryatt
allotment-fox Posted 16 December 2013 Posted 16 December 2013 I've always been a fan, never really understood the stick that some people give him. agree 100% remember his nasty injury that night game was right in front of us / wired up jaw for weeks he was in great form at the time, just cant see him making a return to the KP in a blue shirt
Thracian Posted 16 December 2013 Posted 16 December 2013 Do you think we'll be able to sign someone without limitations? What limitations are and aren't acceptable? I've detailed his limitations on many occasions and if we can't find anyone with more to offer it doesn't say a lot for the options. Don't mistake me. Fryatt's okay to a point. He's good for perhaps 6/7 goals in half a season in the right team. But he's not great in the air, only scores from certain places and in certain ways, is too easily hustled off the ball, is one footed, doesn't make a lot of goals and isn't particularly quick. For a decent defender able to concentrate, he'd be quite easy to mark. Fail to concentrate and, in his hot spots, I accept he could do you in a second.
stb1996 Posted 16 December 2013 Posted 16 December 2013 Anyone know when Glenn Murray is back from injury? Might get overlooked for palace

The amount of chances he fluffed are amazing. I wouldn't have him back. Look forward.
Jace Posted 16 December 2013 Posted 16 December 2013 My source has told me this deal is going ahead too

You seen any strikers we could realistically get who you like the look of?
Grewks Posted 16 December 2013 Posted 16 December 2013 The last time we were creating this many chances in a game, fryatt was banging in 30 in league 1. He does only score the same type of goals, but it is those 'type' we are not scoring at the moment. I am fed up of watching out strikers played 20 yards away from the opposition back line, seeing fryatt back would at least make me think we could nick and poach a goal in a game.
Grewks Posted 16 December 2013 Posted 16 December 2013 I agree. The amount of chances he fluffed are amazing. I wouldn't have him back. Look forward. From the league 1 season onwards, Fryatt fluffed nowhere near as many as vardy or nugent have already this season. For some stupid reason people think that resigning past players is a step back. I for one would have the likes of fryatt and hobbs back in a heartbeat.

I don't think they're better than what we've got. Morgan > Hobbs Nugent > Fryatt. Fryatt didn't even get a look in at Hull.
