Meh, feel 3-1 flatters Man City slightly, don't get me wrong they clearly deserved to win.

First half I felt if we could go in 1-0 at HT we'd have a good chance of bringing it back.

Thought they were abit dirty, but that's something lack - Grit and getting involved, we need to do it ourselves more.

First half we played well, 2nd half not as good but ok.

That midfield three could play in the Premier League. Extremely tidy.

We'd need three defenders and a couple strikers.

Even though we lost; we scored, got to measure ourselves against some absolutely class opposition and everyone remained fit.

thought we were fairly poor for large parts but also produced moments of hope.
bottom line is we were outclassed by a far superior team.

and drinkwater was a load of utter wank

We were obviously out of our depth for a lot of it but in the second half once we stop defending like morons and actually held a line and pressed intelligently we built a solid platform. We slowed it down going forward and played more patiently and chances came.

We were nowhere near as bad in general (maybe defensively for the first 60 minutes, granted) as some people on here are making out. Once James came on we changed completely. I was very disappointed with us first half, we were poor, but we showed some glimmers of Prem football in the second.

Also like to add the crowd were shockingly quiet tonight.

Their players loved a tumble.

Not a terrible account of ourselves, but I do worry about our defence, Wasyl should never be considered at RB ever again. Love Lloyd.

I agree, by the end Drinky looked knackered but him, King (very good) and James (who was excellent) looked like a good unit.

Disagree that we were poor.....we were excellent at passing it around defended well (apart from their third) and were let down by 2 mistakes by Knockaert.....let's face it was Vardy, GTF, Schlupp or Nugent ever going to get the better of in my opinion one of the best centre backs in world football....?!??

i felt Nigel got the tactics about right for the game overall, although in games like this we sorely lack a more physical midfield; their lot were solid.

First goal, no chance I thought it was a sloppy foul though. Second goal we got caught on the break, and it was a great move by them. Third was sloppy and really could have been prevented.

Happy that we held them in the middle third for much of the game and we tracked back very well when they came forward.

Great to see Lloyd get on the scoresheet, absolutely deserved.

Hopefully we can carry a positive attitude from this into the QPR game, and hopefully tired legs can be rested up before the weekend.

To be honest Man City were comfortable in 1st gear and even put it into neutral for most of the second half. Might be they are just that good at the moment.

I thought midfield was the only place we showed much capability. James King and Dyer were the standouts for me.

We could have lost that by 6.

We escaped with a modicum of credibility - we looked up for it during a period in the 2nd half when they relaxed.

Not half as damaging as it could have been.  A couple of our lads leave with theiir reputation enhanced.

Onwards to QPR and beyond...

why didn't James start? he's our best midfielder by a country mile. hope he starts saturday. he's a very intelligent player and turns his way out of trouble a lot and gives a good platform to go forward on

Blame NP a little bit. GTF starting and Waso at RB was debatable to say the least.

Disappointing but hardly made to look terrible.

Unfortunately going ro lose on Sat though i think

Blame NP? are you for real....did NP say "Anthony....foul Dzeko needlessly on the edge of the box and give the ball away in midfield" if he did blame NP

Well played lads. Ok, knocky was VERY poor but many positives can be taken from that game, james looked great when he came on, as did jeff. Can't wait for QPR... COYB!!

Poor defence seemed so shaky. They took their foot off the gas at 3-0, hardly blame them but it gave us a chance to look at bit better i suppose, shouldve started more in their faces. On a side note that ref is decent, two games with him this season and no complaints what so ever

Yeah I agree about the ref, he was a class act.

We were outclassed no doubt. We did however play some good stuff, that free kick on the 8th minute killed us and was completely needlessly given away by knocky unfortunately.

Annoyed that Navas wasn't sent off though yellow carded and then spoken to twice after, he should have gone on the 68th minute when he hacked out one of our men on a counter, think it was Lloyd. That would of changed the game completely.

Don't believe all this first and second gear nonsense, we let them play in spells but when they went flat it was because we hounded them as an organised unit and didn't give them the passing options. We pressed high in spells and that was when we were most successful.

Better decision making in the final third needs to be improved though, sometimes knocky and dyer are really guilty for taking on the man when a cross from deep would have been a better option.

Positives to take though and some great football played by us. Shows that on our day we can challenge at prem level. Shame we couldn't have got someone like Wigan, villa etc to test our prem identity. Onwards and upwards.

A win against QPR is vital now.
