Todays ref

He was poor.

Should've booked a few of their defenders early doors but didn't. Should've sent O'neil off but didn't. A lot of fouls either way weren't given. Can't really comment on the Barton thing cos I haven't seen it properly. All the penalty "shouts" were pathetic and anyone with a brain let alone a refereeing qualification could see that. If we're praising refs for getting those right you can see what level of shite we expect of them!

This!

We see so many terrible ref performances that todays seems brilliant when really it is the average standard you should expect.

you lot are joking right, he was a shit ref. hate refs that play solely to the letter of the law, the game has evolved and nowadays you need to apply some common sense, just because a tackle is hard doesnt mean its a foul. Thought qpr could have had 1 penalty as well, i know i'd have been pissed off if it was us who had been denied the penalty. That said, qpr were utterly useless in front of goal and would have missed it anyway

Bollocks. What was the penalty he didn't give? Phillips wasn't touched by Moore, Hoilett was looking to go down and fell over when De Laet got next to him and Benayoun ran into a brick wall aka Wasyl.

Right, I don't wanna get into this argument, because we've won and we should be enjoying the win but you've bought it up so I have to ask the question - Not necessarily of you personally but many posters on here and many City fans.

If those penalty "shouts" were for us we wouldn't be shouting for them? :dunno:

Especially had we failed to win.

I think many people on here and City fans a whole would be.

Anyway like I said, I don't wanna get into an argument about it, I wanna enjoy the win.

Thought at least one of their shouts was a pen to be honest. This thread would be a lot different if the shoe was on the other foot that's for sure. Very tough game to ref though, especially with the theatrics of their lot in the box.

I wouldn't be claiming they were penalties very soft, was it Phillips who leaped in the air before contact was even made... the QPR players were looking for a penalty everytime they got in our box. No wonder they struggle for goals... they spend most of their time looking for penalties...

I'd shout for them at the game yes, everyone shouts for everything at a game. When I got home and saw a replay I'd be quite upset that we had 3 different forwards who were all such melts they went over because there was a defender standing somewhere near them.

No arguments mate, let's all enjoy the win and get merry. We're joint top, we just killed Redknapp and his bunch of merry pr1cks and it's Christmas. Woo hoo.

This. You always shout for anything when you see your player go down in the box, the replays show that clearly QPR were just looking for a penalty and rightly they were not given

Is this a joke? He was absolutely appalling. Up until the sending off he wouldn't book them for anything, the only time he did was when he should have sent O'Neill off.

Even the decisions that went our way were a bit fortunate, they should have had a penalty. He also didn't give two blatant dives but failed to book them.

The linesman was also terrible. How many times did he get the last touch wrong?

Also, the James booking was a disgrace. He won the ball with a slide tackle. Meanwhile Hinchcliffe the cvnt was saying it was as bad as O'Neill's tackle.

The Hoillett one obviously. De Laet made contact with him, the guy went down, easily could have been a penalty. Trust me if that was at the other end, we'd all be screaming that it was a penalty. I'm not one to usually moan about refs, which shows that this one was pretty bad

De Laet tripping Hoilett.

Really, looked soft. If it's the one I'm thinking of then even the commentators said there was nothing in it.

Less contact there than Moore's I think. And even then Phillips' leg went in to Moore's. Moore moves his leg towards the player, Phillips dodges it and then Phillips leg goes in to Moore and that's when Phillips decides to go down.

It was soft, again the QPR player had leaped in the air onto his foot, clearly looking for a penalty.

This ref did us a huge favour today IMO!

De Laet's challenge was probably a penalty.

He should have sent O'Neill off though.

Barton's red was harsh but I suppose the latter of the law meant it had to be red. He's an idiot because he was having a good game for them.

The Moore one was a blatant dive, Phillips tried to stick his leg out to touch him then just fell over.

There wasn't huge contact from De Laet but he did clip him and Hoillett was running. It looked a natural fall, and a penalty could easily have been given IMO. It would certainly have been less soft than ours last week.

Still, they got lucky with a lot of decisions today.

Any of QPRs penalty shouts would have been the softest penalty in the history of the ****ing game.

Totally agree and when he was I France and putting on that fake accent shows you what a FOOKING tosser he really is !!

Glad he had the balls to send Barton off. The man is a **** and I wish he'd **** off. He's also shit.

Ref was bang on today. If O'Neill's was a red than so was Matty's in the 2nd half. Every big decision he got right, refs will always make small mistakes but as long as they get the major decisions correct it's all good.

I agree, his decisions were consistant, that's all you can ask really.

Sorry Kitch that's wrong straight/locked leg studs showing the fact James won ball meant it was yellow not red, their man should of been straight red first half. Overall though thought ref had a very good game!
