Wasilewski

Good away performance today, rode our luck at times but as the game wore in we restricted QPR more & more & obviously saw the game out for a cracking away win, the first of the season at QPR.

I know RDL is returning from illness and we've loads of games coming up, so it was probably with an eye on this that NP subbed RDL for Wasilewski (also RDL seemed to be losing a few far post headers from floating ball into our box)

But wow, Wasyl seemed bombscare today for those 11mins on the pitch

Did a reckless two-footed lunge, which was that bad the opposing player was luckily several feet away from him else a penalty would surely have been awarded

Then not long after Barton was red carded after an elbowing event he goes and shoulder barges Benayoun potentially giving a penalty away & if that wasn't enough did a Barton-to-GTF-esque elbow across his face for good measure

The only other time I've noticed Wasilewski was when we were pushing for a well deserved winner Vs Burnley when he was needlessly giving fouls away when we had corners, that not only could we have scored from, but his fouls lead to Burnley breaking from free-kicks.

I've not seen City much over the past couple of months for various reasons, so I'm not going to slate the lad and would like to know what people think?

Is Wasyl the real deal Polish international - or more a disaster waiting to happen?

Honestly, he can be either depending on the day.

He has been great or atrocious and not much in between. When he plays at RB his positional sense is all over the place and he doesn't have the pace to get him out of trouble

You know saying "I'm not going to slate the lad" doesn't mean you've not actually slated him don't you? Or did you mean "I've slated him enough so I won't do from now on"?

Watched it several times and I thought Wasyl shielded the ball well - it was actually Yossi who accidentally headed Wasyl's shoulder. However, he's not a natural right back and would have preferred him slot in along side Morgan. That said, Moore was having a great game and it would have been a difficult decision to move him to right back.

No, pointing out my observation from my extremely limited viewing of him - like I said.

Always good to have a maniac in and around the squad. We haven't had one for a while so hopefully it does us good.

Played at centre back, he is good enough, and I have confidence in him

At right-back he has played about five games in that position, and every time I've been nervous watching him.

When he slid in, in the penalty box, my heart jumped, I thought wtf are you doing lad, it took him out of the equation and let QPR have time and space to get a shot in, awful defending.

If we stick him at centre back and he performs, I'd happily give him another year, but if we continue to play him at right-back everytime he starts or comes on, and he plays shit, then I'd release him.

I thought he was fortunate to get away unpunished after the Benayoun challenge. With the benefit of replays, you could see he does dart his elbow in to Benayoun. Obviously we were a bit lucky that no official saw it.

Other than that, I can't think of anything he did wrong.

It's great to see a bit of extra bite and fight and physicality. Much needed in every game where you need to make your presence known. Good choice by Pearson because RDL only just coming back from injury and Hoilett was causing him some problems.

I would rather give a goal away by a player being committed and reckless, than a player who bottles a tackle leading to a goal.

Im sure the players in training will learn a bit from Was aswell, as we need to be ruthless and aggressive.

He is a liability when playing at right back. Yet to be convinced he's good enough at centre back to be honest. Today's back four is without doubt our strongest and today proved it.

He's an utterly awful right back and should never play there.

I've not seen anything massively impressive from him yet in any position.

He appears to be a bit of a nutcase. To describe some of his tackling as reckless is an understatement. I have literally no idea what he was thinking with that lunge, much like his elbow in one of his first games. It's almost like he's addicted to dirty challenges and can't stop himself doing it.

No, diving into challenges like that is mental, brainless and no help to the team. Tackling is an art, something that needs split second decision making and has to be timed well.

Morgan is aggressive and committed. His tackling is the example players need to follow. He can make it his without flying in there like a psycho. He hardly ever goes to ground.

You probably consider someone like Andy King a legend over say Steve Walsh.

We've got too many bottlers in the side, nice to have a bit of a 'Twat' for a change.

That lunge had my heart in my mouth for a second, thought he was going to bring him crashing down.

I think he is great in home games when we have the upper hand overall, but in away games he does clearly get targeted by wingers coming on his left side, which tends to be very weak. RDL on the other hand at least has the pace to retrace steps when he comes forward.

Fair play to the guy though - he is a beast.
