Josh On Drugs?

Anyone hear the post match phone in with Josh wanting to drop knocky for the Bolton match?

He does blow hot and cold but he won the penalty which josh seemed to forget. He also got a crucial 2nd v Watford. (josh asked what influence he'd had this season)

Today as well as Saturday, he carries the ball so well away from our defence, at worst relieving the pressure on the back four, at best winning a free kick to alleviate us further.

I always said knocky made a rod for his own back after scoring those 2 goals v Huddersfield last season. He can't produce shit like that every game. Fans need to start appreciating the bigger picture in terms of what players give us.

Our best player by miles creative-wise. Often the only one who actually looks like doing anything at all.

I think he was a genuine retard and Stringer and the other caller did well not to tear into him.

He claimed Knockaert started playing better when he saw Waghorn warming up ffs!

When he asked what he had done recently, Stringer said won the penalty. "Well i didnt think it was a penalty Ian"

**** me!

I think a lot of our fans are on drugs concerning knockaert. And Alan young just slates him whenever he has the opportunity because he made a twat of himself saying he should not play away from home.

He is our best player for years since muzzy.

The thing the got me was he's main point was regarding leaving Richie Da Laet exposed. Now I'm a fan of Richie but I have to feel the reason he sometimes gets caught has more to do with the fact he's probably the most attacking full back in the division and spends about a quarter of the game on the edge of the oppositions area rather than anything to do with Knockaert.

Any way it's a RL phone in a normally avoid them but had the misfortune of catching this one, if you listen to one you know you're going to get a few idiots in the space of an hour.

Sitting with my son today, we both saisd exactly the same thing. We are a really solid side, but the only player with the creative flair to pull the rabbit out of the hat is Knocky.

Im amazed that people would still see him dropped.

He adds a lot to the side, primarily because he keeps the opposition defence on the back foot.

Hes an asset, make no mistake.

Knockaert was good at covering first half, but throughout the second half he kept jumping into tackles and charging at their players, when he could have just jogged back to a solid defensive position.

I know. And the RDL point was perhaps his only point i could sympathise with. However RDL is in my book the best right back at going forward in this league. The lad behind me said he used to play for Utd up front? Anyway, we missed RDL so much it was apparent after 2mins in the Burnley match.

The bloke who was on the phone in immediately after josh countered his argument well. I'd have probably lost my rag by then lol

I am by no means saying he's a particularly good at covering his full back, just making the point that if we're getting caught out on the right hand side (not that I think we do, that much, especially considering the players that play there) you'd probably start by pointing the finger at the gung ho full back rather than the winger.

Like I've said on the post match thread, on today's evidence we could really do with another right-winger.

I thought Knockaert was outstanding in the first half, won the penalty, beating players with his tricks, trying to create space for himself to get off a shot. Then when the second half comes, he's like a different player, as Manwell said he leaves De Laet exposed, he gives the ball away too many times, and tries to do too much. At the moment he doesn't look like he is capable of doing a full 90 minutes, I know he completed a full 90 today, but he looked knackered by 70 mins.

I'm not saying drop him, but for me he is very inconsistent at the moment.

All second half I had some guy in front of me slagging Knocky off and calling for Pearson to sub him. I know he gives the ball away a bit, and try too much in the box etc. But he's the only real creative/flair player that can make something out of nothing. He won us the penalty that won us the game FFS!! Yes he can be frustrating but he's a game changer...

People need to remember he's still young and learning his game too

It was interesting in the second half that reading mainly attacked us down the left, i must admit i was a tad worried,as they had so much room.

To advoid this we need to play a higher line as we were far to deep and inviting pressure,as for Knockaert they were frit to death of him with his trickery,if there was one little gripe about him it would have to be his finishing.

Do you sit in the right hand corner of the family stand? If so it was probably me lol.

I thought after 70 mins he should have been subbed as he lost the ball far too often and wanted to take at least 5 touches of the call every time he had had.

That said, he won the pen and created a fair few chances, give him a few more years and we will get a bit more of an end product

Drinkwater and James are performing very competently at the moment, Dyer is causing plenty of problems down the left. All crucial, important players but you know roughly what they will do. With Knockaert you don't, this why I'd keep him in, he can produce things from nothing, but you will get frustrated at times.

If none of these gripes against him existed though he wouldn't be playing for Leicester

True, I think sometimes we forget we are in the second division and should remember the times we had Josh Lowe etc in the team

I said this in another thread and saw it again today, Knocky should be playing in the middle where he can influence the play. First half he picked up the ball on the right, came inside with it played it out to Dyer, kept going until he was on the left with Dyer, ended up playing in Dyer and create a chance. Reading get the ball and get it out left and they have numbers on RDL.

Start of the second half Knocky was playing as a more conventional right winger, dropping back and covering RDL, but having very little positive impact on the game.

Our biggest threats come from the pace of Dyer and Vardy (both excellent today) and the trickery of Knocky, he is also the best at playing in Dyer and Vardy.

The thing is do we build a team around Knocky, play him in the free role and push Vardy out wide , get someone like James to cover the right side when he goes wandering or make him play in a more disciplined way?

Knockys not being played in the right position. Needs to be central. .. some fans need to get off his back.. yes at times his decision making is poor.. but he also produces moments of magic too... I thought he was decent today but there were loads of people around me today constantly moaning about him and saying he was shite...ythose people need to f**k off
