We're taking over 4,000 fans, our biggest following of the season, to Stoke, an absolute shithole, to play the least glamourous club in the Premiership, Stoke City. So yeh, we must be bothered. And of course, there's the small matter of these ugly bastards relegating us to our lowest ebb, with their dirty, dirty players and fans who don't seem understand that they can't just decide when a match is finished. Yeh, it won't be a big deal if we lose, but who cares? That's not the way I look at this tie. I look at it as a good test with a chance to add another scalp to our season. A chance to beat one of the most horrible clubs in England. And for anyone going it should be a good atmosphere and a day where we've not got to worry about losing points to our league rivals. Let's enjoy it.

But on the other side of things, we don't need more games while we are in this position do we? We were superb in the League Cup but ended up with Manchester City in between two massive games... I know the FA Cup is played on a Saturday afternoon, but progressing means more games moved to midweek.

Over the course of a 40+ game season, a team (here Leicester) are not relegated on one day. Stoke didn't relegate us, we relegated ourselves... I still feel it was the week before, defeat to Sheffield Wednesday, that really did confirm our relegation. That was the game we needed to win.

But, like I said at the end of that post, we'll end up with more midweek games. Fine with me as long as the players handle it, I love a good cup run. But people moan about 'tiredness' now (see pre-Millwall game), so we can't have that excuse come the time we end up with three games in the week again.

We win and I'll be happy, we've beaten a Prem team (and I don't like Stoke) and we're into the next round of the FA Cup. We lose and we've done what was expected, lose to a Prem team. We stay top of the league, possibly a bit fresher come April/May and hopefully no injuries.

Has it been bad at all up in Stoke? From a footballing perspective I hope not because it would be better for us to get this game played now. From a selfish perspective, I wouldn't mind if it is because I'm on night shifts tonight and tomorrow night and I'm still not sure about whether to go tomorrow.

Our own fate was in our own hands. Like I say many teams and arguably our own team got us relagated that season not 1 match against Stoke.

From the 2004/05 until we got relegated we were poor in everyone of those season. It was a revolving door of Sh!t managers, loans and older players looking for one last biggish contract.
