This bloke talks some sense on their forum. Bizarre. I don't feel arrogant or superior towards Leicester. I remember MON's side beating us in the playoffs (that was a miserable drive home, sharing the A50 with all the Leicester fans) and them being in the Prem while we were still trying to get promoted for several years. In fact, they had several spells in the top flight during our wilderness years, if I remember rightly. They are a similar sized club to Stoke, with a similar pedigree. It just happens to be our turn to dine at the headmaster's table.

Craig Posted 3 January 2014 Posted 3 January 2014 I don't think the hostility is due to them 'relegating' us. They didn't. A point there was actually a decent result. I think it's more the way that a number of their fans acted at, and prior to, the final whistle. As for this 'we're bigger than you' nonsense... We're two similar sized clubs, we probably have a bigger fanbase, we probably have a better history, but that's countered by the fact that they're currently an established Premier League club. It really doesn't matter.

They didn't relegate us so I don't dislike them for that. What I do dislike them for is the way there fans acted at the final whistle. Anyone would think they cared more about us being relegated than them being promoted. Really hope we do 'em tomorrow,

We win and I'll be happy, we've beaten a Prem team (and I don't like Stoke) and we're into the next round of the FA Cup. We lose and we've done what was expected, lose to a Prem team. We stay top of the league, possibly a bit fresher come April/May and hopefully no injuries. Good point, A win here, and another big side down the KP and a sell out could be worth the transfer fee of a player coming in, and if FFP is close the difference between hitting it and not.

Its teams like this we need to prove ourself against, to show we are capable of beating premiership sides and where we are as a club. Doesn't stop that day hurting, watching them celebrate(which we would do if it was the other way around) whilst we were at our lowest ebb was the worst thing I have experienced at football match. A win would help get over it to some extent, though I'd rather beat derby on Friday. At least Steve Howard and Harry Worley won't be playing centre mid in this one.
