Waghorn back out on loan or move?

Agreed.

Sunderland led the way and showed others how easy we were to rip off.

We were ripe for it under Sven and it carried on.

Whatever people think of NP the fact we don't get ripped off now is one feather in his cap they can't take from him.

I always thought Waghorn was a signing Mandaric was heavily involved in (he was still chairman for a brief period after the AFI takeover / investment) to appease supporters after we ousted a top manager and bought in Paulo Sousa? Especially given that at the time we looked ****ing doggo bar Lloyd.

He signed before Sven came anywhere near the club.

Don't let facts get in the way of someone blaming Sven for all our mistakes.

Who's blaming sven for this.

I said we were ripped off when we bought Waggy and it carried on under sven

And yes mandi was chairman but not spending his own money.

It was the Thais money no way did Mandy have £3m in his coffers.

I know that's why I said we was ripped off by Sunderland.

And were ripe for it under sven and it continued.

But some dumb fvcks seem to think I'm blaming sven for waggy.

Untill NP returned we were being ripped off left right and centre

It's being reported that Bristol City are amongst a host of clubs who are supposed to be interested in Leicester City striker Martyn Waghorn.

The 23 year old is finding it difficult to command a regular first team place with the Foxes as they begin to run away with the Championship.

But the player has had first team experience while on loan with Millwall where he scored three times in 14 appearances.

If the rumours are true about City being interested, then they face competition from Millwall, Blackburn Rovers, Birmingham City, Doncaster Rovers and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Now the chicken chasers are interested! Seems they want to just loan him and wait for his deal to expire before making it permanent

BLACKBURN Rovers are in the hunt for Leicester City striker Martyn Waghorn.

The former England Under-21s international is free to leave Leicester and is understood to be attracting interest from Rovers boss Gary Bowyer.

Bowyer today returns from India where he has been holding talks with Venky’s over the possibility of boosting his squad before the transfer window closes next Friday.

If he gets the go-ahead from Rovers’ owners he is expected to launch a bid for one of the forwards on his shortlist, which is believed to include Waghorn.

Leicester are willing to listen to offers in the region of £450,000 for Waghorn – who they paid a reported £3m for from Sunderland in August 2010.

Waghorn will be a free agent once his contract expires in the summer and as he will be above the age of 23 – he turns 24 tomorrow – the Foxes would not be entitled to compensation.

That means clubs tracking Waghorn instead may attempt to sign him on loan until the end of the season with a view to completing a permanent transfer once his deal with Leicester runs out.

The South Shields-born frontman is being chased a by a host of Championship clubs.

But a move to Rovers could be the most attractive option to Waghorn.

He fits the profile of the player Bowyer is trying to bring to the club – young, British with scope to improve.

Rovers supporters saw at first hand Waghorn’s talents when he scored a fine goal for Millwall at Ewood Park last month.

Waghorn netted three times in 14 matches during his three-month loan stay with the Lions.

He has made two substitute appearances since returning to Leicester.

But the arrival of Kevin Phillips at the King Power Stadium has left Waghorn further down the pecking order.

Bowyer is in the market for a striker after allowing DJ Campbell and Ruben Rochina to leave on loan.

Leon Best, who has been linked with a move to Crystal Palace, is out of favour while David Goodwillie could yet head back out on loan.

Palace are, however, definitely interested in Rovers captain Scott Dann. But it is understood they would be unwilling to match Dann’s salary or even his price tag should Rovers be tempted to sell their skipper.

Speculation yesterday also linked Rovers with Palace defender Danny Gabbidon and Hull City forward Matty Fryatt.

Every club will be wanting to get him on the cheap and who can blame them!, I don't think our valuation of him is very high but it speaks volumes that no club will bid that amount the decline of Martyn Waghorn continues.

Why on earth would they want him.

Presumably they can see a bit of something in him? I think given a good run of games in a half decent Championship side, he could come good. We'll never see that here, because there's no way he's going to get that in our side any time soon. I can see why a Championship side would take a punt on him. Think he'd probably compliment Rhodes quite well. Or maybe they're looking at super-cheap replacements in case he leaves? Either way, it's not much of a gamble for them.

Why on earth would they want him.

Just as much as all other interested clubs would want him, to add depth in squad and bolster their attacking options.

You sound like as if Waghorn was completely bereft of any form of talent or skill and/or should hang up his boots completely.

Or was your comment aimed at Blackburn in particular?
