Not surprised he's after him, been a long term admirer.
Brooksy Posted 3 January 2014 Posted 3 January 2014 It's like Taylor and Junior Lewis all over again.
Fox92 Posted 3 January 2014 Posted 3 January 2014 Can't afford to let Waghorn and Schlupp leave without getting any back up.
Guest Posted 3 January 2014 Posted 3 January 2014 I'd imagine we'd be hoping to sell and will loan if we can't get rid of him another way
MGLCFC Posted 3 January 2014 Posted 3 January 2014 But isn't that part of the jigsaw - send out Waghorn and Schlupp, releases funds to bring in Phillips? Nugent, Vardy, Wood, GTF and Phillips have enough quality to get us promoted IMO.

I like Waghorn and it would be nice to see Schlupp succeed, but I agree with this post, those 5 strikers are more than enough. A variety of different play styles and a good blend of experience and athleticism. .

A variety of different play styles and a good blend of experience and athleticism. . With those 5 strikers you have a bit of everything. Wood - The link up play with his back to goal, his performance against fulham was unreal Nugent - Good work rate and experienced Vardy - The raw pace and work rate GTF - Assists galore. less that 270 mins played this season, 2 assists and a goal. Phillips - Finisher.
JonnyBoy Posted 5 January 2014 Posted 5 January 2014 I hope he goes out perm. He was utter wank yesterday and has been since his first season. Time to go
Bayfox Posted 5 January 2014 Posted 5 January 2014 Sheff utd may be a good move for all parties. assuming they pay his wages. He should do ok at that level and it puts him in the shop window. we free up a little more cash from the p&l accounts.
Mark_w Posted 5 January 2014 Posted 5 January 2014 Clough is obsessed with him I swear. My cover is blown!
Narborough_fox Posted 5 January 2014 Posted 5 January 2014 Can we not just give him to them rather than loaning him out? I mean, he's extremely unlikely to get a new contract at the end of the year so why not just let him go 6 months earlier... It's the same with Danns regarding Bolton, why not agree a nominal fee (maybe even a free) to let him go permanently. Bemuses me, personally.

Because if the player is out of contract they are more likely to have more offers from different clubs, and will generally get a bigger signing on fee due to no transfer fee being paid.
Jakemoore Posted 5 January 2014 Posted 5 January 2014 I hope he goes out perm. He was utter wank yesterday and has been since his first season. Time to goHave you ever watched him play?! He was quality in his first season! There's obviously a reason why so many managers want to sign him!
Exeter Fox Posted 5 January 2014 Posted 5 January 2014 He was good in his first season, but other than a few (minor) glimpses of his old form he's been average at best every time I've seen him. It'll be good to get him off the wage bill, if anything.

VLC86 Posted 5 January 2014 Posted 5 January 2014 Because if the player is out of contract they are more likely to have more offers from different clubs, and will generally get a bigger signing on fee due to no transfer fee being paid. orrrr. the players are greedy and won't agree to the pay drop. That and if worst comes to worst we can recall them
ian_marshall Posted 10 January 2014 Posted 10 January 2014 Waggy walked out of the ground, jumped into his car and drove off tonight about 1 minute into the game. Looks like he defonitely won't be featuring again for the foreseeable future.

RizLCFC Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 I couldn't care less if he leaves, hopefully this window so we get a bit of money for him. He won't get anywhere near our first team squad right now.
absolutelegend Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 GTF - Assists galore. less that 270 mins played this season, 2 assists and a goal. 2 doesn't count as galore
