Jace Posted 17 February 2014 Posted 17 February 2014 Just 3 more points to sneak into the play offs and reach 70 points and win at Wembley
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 17 February 2014 Posted 17 February 2014 91 points will see us up as champs I reckon
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 17 February 2014 Posted 17 February 2014 Just 3 more points to sneak into the play offs and reach 70 points and win at Wembley No no no we are not going to wembey ok,not, get it
Pegosteve Posted 17 February 2014 Posted 17 February 2014 Lets put things in perspective, the 3 teams in the bottom 3 probably need more points in their remaining games to survive than we need to get promotion!
Pegosteve Posted 17 February 2014 Posted 17 February 2014 Last 4 seasons final 16 games have yielded us: 12 - 13 15 points 11 - 12 24 points 10 - 11 22 points 9 - 10 29 points The year we were relegated to the depths we got 18 points. We just need to keep chipping away. Wonder what stats we will be trying to come up with this time next year!
Tommy G Posted 18 February 2014 Posted 18 February 2014 if we hit the form that the bottom 5 have this season (roughly a pont a game) we will finish on 83 points which should be enough for second at least. That won't happen Plus I think we will win all our home games left, which will see us in the high 80's Chill people!
smallpauldj Posted 18 February 2014 Posted 18 February 2014 Its the home games i'm worried about more. Can only really see QPR and Ipswich maybe coming here and having a go, the rest will park the bus like Watford.
lcfcjw16 Posted 18 February 2014 Posted 18 February 2014 The only games i see us struggling in is: burnley (away) , forest (away), QPR (home), reading (away). So if we win the others then we'll get promoted. We only need to win 7 dont we?
weller54 Posted 18 February 2014 Posted 18 February 2014 7 more wins puts us on 88 pts!!.. That'll be enough!!!
Deucalion Posted 18 February 2014 Posted 18 February 2014 I'd be more confident with anything in the 90s to be honest. Good things are, QPR and Burnley seem to be slipping up. Bad things are, Forest are on very good form and we play them away tomorrow.
brockmyster Posted 18 February 2014 Posted 18 February 2014 I think 7 wins out of 16 will see us up to be honest, that makes 88, and that is very achievable!
CPW22 Posted 18 February 2014 Posted 18 February 2014 Big Nige will be saying "The target is as many points as we can get" Beat Forest, Burnley and QPR then providing we don't completely impload in our other games we must be there?

Benji Posted 18 February 2014 Posted 18 February 2014 With Wigan moved to April, March looks an inviting month...
Fez of Mahrez Posted 18 February 2014 Posted 18 February 2014 My bare minimum for promotion bet is W7 D4 L5 25 points. Final total 92.
weller54 Posted 18 February 2014 Posted 18 February 2014 My bare minimum for promotion bet is W7 D4 L5 25 points. Final total 92. Won't need that many '!!!
Deucalion Posted 18 February 2014 Posted 18 February 2014 Did you forget the loss to the blades 3-1 to a side 41 places below them and in a relegation battle. I don't know how much to read into that, it is the cup. I'm just expecting a hugely difficult game and my instinct is not that we will win it. A draw will do though.
Pookie Posted 19 February 2014 Posted 19 February 2014 The table above shows what sort of form the chasing pack would need to have in the remaining games to beat three potential points total. For example: if we get 22 points, then Forest can only drop 12 points from now until then end of the season (we draw or win tonight, they can only drop either 10 or 9 points) You will notice that we can still lose 6 matches and it will be very difficult to be overtaken for promotion Personally I think 89 points will be good enough for promotion (time will tell). I hope the table above helps!

Steven Posted 20 February 2014 Posted 20 February 2014 I have now lowered my required points total to 92.
Mark_from_USA Posted 20 February 2014 Posted 20 February 2014 I'm with 89 or 88 points. And there is no reason to think that we won't enter the 2 matches at the beginning of April sitting on 84 points. The stretch of games is pretty favorable. So we could realistically 'be promoted' by beating Wednesday or Brighton with 5 games to play.
woddyuk Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 As of today 3 placed Derby maximum possible total is 103 points so to be mathematically guaranteed promotion we need another 36 points. (104) Obviously their maximum total will drop with each game they lose or draw. Realistically 9/10 wins from 15 should do it

If we get 9/10 wins from the remaining games we'll win the division by a country mile.
