lcfc278 Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 i think we just need to get more points than whoever finishes 3rd to go up
Fox92 Posted 22 February 2014 Posted 22 February 2014 My calculations this week Burnley games left 14 x 3 = 42 (that means they win every game) 42 + 63 (their current total) = 105 Meaning we need 34 points to ensure we finish above Burnley/they cannot finish above us. 34 / 3 = 11.3 (wins) And 11 wins is around the QPR game, as I stated in previous posts. The lowest place we can technically finish is now 20th (Doncaster) although it will not happen because of everyone playing each other.
ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 22 February 2014 Posted 22 February 2014 Just keep matching or beating Burnley's result and were sorted

Would love to do it, live on Sky infront of the league favourites.
Smudge Posted 22 February 2014 Posted 22 February 2014 After today. On current form the top three would get 90 points Top two if they achieve an average of 2 points or more Top nine if anyone of them attains maximum points. Which would match or beat the league record of 14 straight wins.
Motty Posted 22 February 2014 Posted 22 February 2014 Our season so far played 32 games 71 points only two teams have had more points after 32 games Fulham 2000-2001 75 points and Reading 2005-2006 79 points. In 2002-2003 our last promotion season Portsmouth had 67 and we had 65. If we just stay focused we can achieve the Premier dream 90 points will be enough to be promoted 95 to be champions. We have shown a never to say die attitude this season. yes we imploded last season but that does not mean we will this season. Yes we drew 2 games after 9 straight wins. Lets be honest last season they would have been losses. We have got our Leicester back. A footnote, today Jamie Vardy was awesome
fuchsntf Posted 22 February 2014 Posted 22 February 2014 Realistic is a > pessimistic< word, As long as we can reach 113 points then I will keep to that. Thats why when I look at the chasing pack, I am > optimistic < they will drop points, bcos they have to play against each other, ....AND US. Positive vibes positive vibes gentlemen
ThorpeAstleyFox Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 As things stand 32 more points would guarantee promotion.
foxfanazer Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 As things stand 32 more points would guarantee promotion. We won't need anywhere near 32! 22 maybe
weller54 Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 90 pts is enough!.. 19 more....6 wins and a draw from final 13 games... Can't see us losing 6!!!....
ThorpeAstleyFox Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 We won't need anywhere near 32! 22 maybe The only points total that I'm interested in is the one that GUARANTEES promotion (i.e. a mathematical certainty). This number will reduce as and when we gain points and others drop points - everything else is just idle speculation.

I'm saying 89 for promotion and 94 for the title
Happy Fox Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 People need to treat a win as 2 ppg, because that trend has been proven throughout seasons past. Averaging 2 points a game usually indicates automatic promotion. Therefore 92 points should be the target,we need 21 points therefore 7 more wins.
foxes1988 Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 6 more wins should see us pretty much there. I say six as we would probably of drawn a few in between also that leaves us on around 90 points
Guest ttfn Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 Derby's 61 points from 32 games is the most by any third-placed side after 32 games since Manchester City in 1999-2000, which further emphasises the need to be hitting at least the high-80s to get promoted this year.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 For quite some time I've seen 90 as the magic no! Great news is that target is getting nearer very quickly. COYB
Happy Fox Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 Lets f**king secure it at Burnley away come on City!
Corky Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 8 wins will do it for me, that would require Derby to win 12 out of 14.
Happy Fox Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 8 wins will do it for me, that would require Derby to win 12 out of 14. That is tad too much 18 points should be enough. 8 wins would secure the title.

This! I'm still sticking to 93 points for automatics and possibly a couple more for the title.
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 However many wins you think will do it, take one off that figure if one of the wins is at Burnley! Personally I think 5 wins (inc one at Burnley) and a couple of draws should do it.
Steven Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 This! I'm still sticking to 93 points for automatics and possibly a couple more for the title. I am vacillating between 92 and 93 points myself.
STUHILL Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 Saturday is a huge day for us. With Derby playing Burnley, if Derby draw or lose and we beat Charlton then that gap to 3rd will be looking very nice indeed! I say 7 more wins from last 14 games will see us promoted and most likely as Champs! Derby and Qpr don't worry me too much but you never know in this game so lets worry about getting those 7+ wins and then it shouldn't matter what the other teams do.
