Schmeichel to united?

In the paper today.. probably the sun.. posted on twitter by walshy indicates they want him as their number two for now... I think that would be his dream move to replicate his dad

There number 2 is a guy who has been ahead of Kasper in the Danish pecking order. Are they selling Lindergaard?

I would imagine he's off

Well my tip to any goalkeeper is don't join a club where the established number 1 is younger than you. Only one person can play the position and they won't be retiring anytime soon. So unless their off the bigger and better things, which for De Gea is unlikely, Kasper will never be number 1 there and will waste his career.

Straight swap for Lindegaard - I'd probably take that. However, If Schmeichel goes, perhaps he could be loaned straight back until the end of the season, like Zaha did with Palace.

I personally think he could become their number one wiyh time but id love him stay.

With time? He's 4 years older than De Gea, Kasper isn't the one with time on his side. By the time De Gea's performance start to drop off, or he's ready to retire, Kasper will be already retired.

Sorry but it's his name that gets linked, not his ability. A 27 year old goalkeeper who has played consistently in tiers two and three now all of a sudden he's linked with two of the biggest clubs in the World - Manchester United and AC Milan... I don't believe it, even more so considering The Sun have printed it.

United could go for any goalkeeper on the planet if they wanted too.

Kasper is Premier League quality, but not Manchester United quality. There's a hell of a lot of difference between being good enough to play for a mid to lower table Premier League side and one of the Big Four.

He'd rot on the bench and waste his career there. If we're promoted, we can offer him so much more playing time.

WHY do people keep suggesting this? He's off for free at the end of the season, so why on earth would any club pay for him now just to get rid of him for 6 months?

The only conceivable reason would be if there were a host of clubs chasing him and one club wanted to get his signature, but don't need him yet. But that's ridiculously unlikely, and even if it did happen it'd probably be in the form of a £1 transfer and free loan back...

There are only 3 options regarding Kaspar, realistically. He leaves now for a small fee and we don't have a 1st choice keeper, he leaves in the summer for nothing, or he signs a contract extension. I'm hoping the latter.

If he went to Man U, he would be wasting his career. Hopefully he'll realise this, and stay here or go somewhere where he'll get games.

Kasper seems to be a confident chap and probably isn't as pessimistic about usurping the number one keeper as some Leicester fans seem to be.

Wouldn't blame him if he goes but I hope he doesn't.

He's confident, but he's not an idiot. He'll know he's not displacing De Gea anytime soon.

Also I get the vibe he wants his own career outside the shadow of his dad, and going Man Utd, would be the total opposite.

Ha ha, at the moment Manure are a mid to lower table premier league side.

I get the feeling he would walk over hot coals in bare feet all the way up there if he could play for Man Utd and emulate his dad.

I'm sure I've read he's said as much in an interview.

The only way I can see any truth in this is as a PR stunt by Man U to appease their fans. I think Schmichael would be clever enough to know he wouldn't be first choice but with a massive pay increase and/or a bit of flattery who knows?

No idea where his has come from but maybe the ideal arrangement would be any sum for someone who can leave for free imminently and Lindegaard on loan until end of season. Everybody wins ??

is it possible theres a clause in his contract , whereby its gets extended upon promotion? so if we go up the only way a club could buy him is to pay?

Maybe in the summer, it's a sinking ship.

I'll disagree with you there.

I think this is true for outfield players but I don't think it is for goalkeepers.
