absolutelegend Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 I really rate Schmeichel, but I do cringe when he talks about his love for utd.
Foxes Blue Blood Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 I know it's only newspaper talk but could this be a perfect deal for us ? http://www.givemesport.com/424455-man-united-linked-with-shock-4m-bid-for-legends-son?autoplay=on

But I don't see them paying 4mil and loaning him back. They will get him for nothing in the summer and in this day and age I am sure they could let him know that without talking to him. They only need to pick up the phone to his dad and let him know.
21st Century Fox Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 Mentioned in Bild in Germany as well... http://sportbild.bild.de/fussball/international/international/real-casilla-fuer-casillas-34428166.sport.html
Manwell Pablo Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 I do love it when people say stupid things like "straight swap for Lindegard then yeah" Like that is ever, ever going to happen.
AyewJoking Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 I'm sure Schmeichel will sign a new contract at this club as long as we get promoted this season which at the moment is looking pretty likely.

As if £4million would ever happen, but if it did, I'd snap their hands off considering his contract's up. Visit Barnsley, pinch Steele for 20% of that fee. Nice business and we've got a perfect replacement who is just as good. All this talk is rubbish though. I still stand by that he isn't that good. He's 27, hardly young and improving. Take into consideration he's been a regular in the Championship and League One. Clubs like Manchester United could bid for any goalkeeper in the World.
Dan Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 Still can't believe I read some people saying they'd turn down £4mil and a loan back. We'd effectively be making £4mil for nothing.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 Kasper is Premier League quality, but not Manchester United quality. I dunno, think he'd be fine at a mid-league Prem team.

Dames Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 Kaspers agent must be working over time to get all these 'links' to big teams printed in the press. Imo it all seems as if its all gearing towards securing Kasper a bumper pay rise if we go up which is looking more and more likely.
Jace Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 No reason why he wouldnt sign a new deal if we are promoted Im sure we could offer a 1 year deal on a competitive wage
davieG Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 Manchester United goalkeeper Sam Johnstone has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract extension with the club. The 20-year-old, who joined the Red Devils in 2009, will now be on the books of the Premier League champions until June 2017. Johnstone won the FA Youth Cup with United in 2011 and has also played on loan for a number of clubs, including Scunthorpe United and Walsall. The youngster is a regular for the Under-21s but has yet to make his debut for the first team, although he was part of the United squad in December for their League Cup clash against Stoke City and the Premier League encounter with West Ham United. Johnstone has also represented England at the Under-16, Under-17, Under-19 and Under-20 levels.

I'd take it right now but it's not gonna happen. Especially as it is Man U they don't need to pay they just spill the beans to his dad. Then Kasper will sign in july.
Matt Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel says he is flattered to be linked with a move away, but he remains committed to the club. The Denmark international's contract expires at the end of the season and he has been reportedly attracting interest from a number of clubs, including Serie A giants AC Milan. Schmeichel has been ever present this season and has played an integral part in the Foxes' nine-game unbeaten streak, which has helped them climb to the top of the Sky Bet Championship table. He told Danish publication BT: "It is flattering with all the rumours linking me with some big clubs. "But the team-mates and me are fully focused on securing promotion to the Premier League for Leicester. "Afterwards, I will think about the future."
funkyrobot Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 De Gea is younger and light years ahead ability wise than Kasper, this would be brutal for his career!I don't think there's that much between the two of them actually. Both are outstanding goalkeepers, particularly shot stoppers. it would be hard to dislodge de gea and I can't see it happening though I do think he's better than lindegaard. Hopefully Leicester will go up and he'll stay with us as he's wasted as a reserve goalie.
Guest Col city fan Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 Kasper strikes me as a very ambitious young man. He's used to success and accolades. Imagine having a dad who was bringing round the likes of Cantona et al to the house when you were a kid. It must have been like another world. Kasper is destined for the Prem. It's a good thing that it looks like we will go up. If we hadn't/don't Im convinced he'd be off.
MPH Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 Still can't believe I read some people saying they'd turn down £4mil and a loan back. We'd effectively be making £4mil for nothing. That doesn't make sense. Why pay 4m and loan him back when they can sign him for free at the end of the season.
