lancyclaret Posted 4 March 2014 Posted 4 March 2014 This time last season, the strugglers had already started fighting for their lives with Peterborough finally going down despite a record 54 points. This year the likes of Barnsley, Yeovil and Millwall are showing little sign of fighting for their lives by upsetting the promotion-chasers. Still time I suppose but it looks like about 45/46 points will be enough to stay up.

I think by time we play you guys the top 2 positions will practically be wrapped up. The relegation battle will go to the final day and i can see them 3 teams going down. bye bye holloway what a shame haha

ealingfox Posted 4 March 2014 Posted 4 March 2014 I'd say Yeovil holding on for a draw away at a top 6 contender despite having 8 men constitutes 'fighting for their lives' to be fair to them. Peterborough went down on 54 points? Thats incredible considering we could have been promoted on 70 points wasn't I think? They also scored more goals than Hull.

We drew 1-1 at home to Cardiff with a last-minute equaliser, won 2-1 at Wolves to more or less seal their relegation and finished off with a 2-0 home win against Ipswich to finish a respectable 11th with 62 points - just 6 off a play-off spot. Middlesbrough were going for automatic at Christmas but finished on 57 points - just 3 more than relegated Posh - if the season had lasted another week or two, I reckon Boro would have been in League One this season,
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 4 March 2014 Posted 4 March 2014 Let's face it, we all hope Millwall scum go down. I have no love for Yeovil - the underdogs, whatever, and don't care if they drop away. It would be a shame for Barnsley to go down as they've shown real heart to stay up for this long, and I have a soft spot for Charlton and Chrissy P - especially now we've finally beaten them! So the 3rd team to go down - let's just say Bolton or Blackpool would be great!

I'd like Charlton to stay up as well: I've a couple of mates who are fans, I like and respect Chris Powell, and I have very good memories of watching Steve Claridge score there in April 96 to launch our run-in for the playoffs. And I really do hope Millwall go down, taking that gibbering tw*t Holloway with them.

I would like Yeovil to stay up (at the expense of Millwall), but feel limited resources, suspensions mounting and a very small squad to take its toll leading up to and over the vital Easter period. Think us and Burnley will be the auto's. Very surprised, but pleased Burnley have stayed the course (although I'd love Blackburn to do us a favour on Sunday). Play offs? Wigan(3rd) v Forest (6th) and Derby (4th) v QPR(5th) with a Wigan v QPR final - Wigan winning on penalties. Harry resigns and King Billy sacked.

Ings is a very good player and in him and Vokes you've arguably the best upfront combination in the league (after Vardy and Nugent of course ) You've an impressive home record and have done well against teams in the top 6. Just be satisfied with second place please.

Us to go up and Burnley and hoping the sheep and trees either fall away or get spanked in the play off's. Don't care who wins the play off's if we have gone up other than the sheep or trees.

They just seem hopeless at the minute. Haven't won in something silly like 15. Ince was obviously a massive loss for them.
