World cup victory or relegation survival?

  1. 1. If only one could happen, do you choose England to win the world cup in Brazil, or we stay in the Premiership?

I certainly get the feeling they are a more committed and down to earth bunch of lads that we have had in the past, I felt the same last season as well when it wasn't going too right for us all the time, hence why I wanted us to persist with it and the manager this season.

Maybe they will turn into a bunch of cnuts one day, until then though I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

I agree entirely with this.

Also, Knockaert seems to have been arrested once last year, nobody knows what the circumstances were and this certainly seems like a one off occurrence. As for Vardy being on a tag several years ago, again, we don't know what the circumstances surrounding that are and even so, it was a few years ago. Does he not deserve a second chance?

I think that having the types of lads that we have in our team, good, honest and hardworking people has contributed massively to the team spirit and ultimately to our season (yes of course winning games also helps).

World Cup for me. If it was Leicester qualifying for Europe then it would be trickier.

Trickier????

To do that we'd have to either win a cup or be in the top 6, that's a no brainer for me.

The England-Denmark game pretty much sealed the club vs country debate for me, was more disappointed that Kasper had conceded than I was happy England had scored.

Where did I say I wouldn't enjoy it?

I'd love every minute of it as I'm sure all England fans would BUT we were asked which we'd prefer from Leicester surviving or England winning.

Chosing one doesn't mean that I don't want the other to happen as well.

dunno, maybe i got the wrong end of the stick when you said you find it difficult to support them and called the team a bunch of wankers. just didn't make it sound like you were much of a fan or would enjoy their success  :dunno:

FS I'm not talking about them being criminals lol, I believe the term was over paid (clearly are) Egotistical (you wont know unless you see one without his media face on) Wankers (see previous) which I refuse to believe we don't have our fair share of. Pearson probably does a good job of keeping them grounded but don't think we don't have some lads who think their the dogs dangles's

Premier League survival.

Leicester City FC mean more to me than England.

A Leicester victory fills me up with joy more than an England victory.

A Leicester loss angers me more than an England loss.

I share those sentiments in regards to City meaning much more than England but the scale between winning the world cup compared to finishing 17th in the prem is too much in my opinion.

Another question would be, which is the more likely?

I don't think we have a hope in Hell of winning the World Cup anyway!

City staying up is more probable.

......Maybe that's were we differ then as I don't view Leiester as something I choose it was something I was bought up to be much like I was bought up English.

And I know Terry is a deplorable Human being but last time I checked he hadn't ever smacked a woman about so if your willing to tolerate that I'd suggest giving him a break, he's also retired from international football.

No breaks for Terry, his record is long and appalling, his whole family seem to be scum.

I'm aware that he's retired.

I'm not condoning what Collymore did but I'm still proud that he once played for us, I believed anything could happen while he and Heskey were there.

Just wondering if the way this country is currently being run has anything to do with people not caring about the England football team as much? Its becoming less English as every day passes.

I support them because I'm English, I don't feel for them the way I do Leicester.

Doesn't mean I wouldn't enjoy their success, what Englishman or woman wouldn't?

Anyone who chooses World Cup over Leicester deserves a life time ban from all our games. How dare you.

I honestly can't believe people still follow England and actually give a shit. Morons. Absolute bloody morons. Supporting England is for simpletons.

I doubt that has anything to do with it, Caneron's policies have nothing to do with whether I support England or not.

Or did you mean ..........

Well at least you admit you make absolutely no sense I guess

i brought both those incidents up not to have a go at our players, i love them to bits at the moment.

it was just in response to someone saying they couldn't support gerrard because he once cracked a dj in a club. jamie vardy was arrested and charged with assault following a fight in a pub, and forced to wear a tag. gerrard was arrested and acquitted for punching a dj. yet it would be difficult to support gerrard but it's bloody great fun chanting "jamie vardy's having a party" on repeat every weekend? hypocritical?

like i said i didn't bring it up to start a debate about how moral jamie vardy is or anything daft like that, i was just saying some people are very quick to state how they could never be happy for a bunch of overpaid, dirty wankers winning games for england, but if you look a little closer to home they are delighted with our (some) overpaid (some) previously charged with assault players to win the league etc.

I think we know what he meant.

I know what he meant, just wondered how it was relevant to wanting the England team to do well.

Yes, club over country, but 17th next year is hardly the dazzling heights we can achieve... a World Cup would be a monumental achievement and a once-in-a-lifetime happening, I'd hope City will survive a Premier League season in my lifetime even if we are relegated next season... World Cup victory in Brazil, no question.

Not remotely patriotic. Club every time.

Supporting a football team doesn't make you "patriotic" anyway.

Common sense doesn't apply when it comes to making excuses for the team you love.

I think we all excuse our own players but would hate to see the likes of Terry or Marlon King join.

Most people hated David Speedie with a passion, I only knew one person who wouldn't go to a game while he was at the club.

It's the Englishness that bothers me. BNP, EDL, people moaning about 'darkies' down the pub, fighting on a Friday night, celebrating by smashing the crap out of the place, people banging on about what Churchill would have made of all these Poles and Rumanians nicking our jobs... And then, when you finally get out of the place, you have to pretend you're not really English every time someone yielding a St. George's cross towel with 'what goes on tour stays on tour' comes anywhere near you.
