World cup victory in Brazil or Prem survival?

World cup victory or relegation survival?

  1. 1. If only one could happen, do you choose England to win the world cup in Brazil, or we stay in the Premiership?

World Cup for me, and probably most people. We can always get back to the prem, but we'll probably never win a World Cup in my life-time.

What he said,

Plus if we get relegated next season we will still be £63M better off and £30M in parachute payments coming our way, while Forest and QPR will be struggling under a transfer emabargo.

I'm also not going to be upset at the prospect of another season like this one destroying the league, I think there will be a few records unbroken this season, we'll have to go back and get them all before we establish ourselves as prem club.

Relegation isn't always a step back (see our last relegation) and as long as we don't panic and sack NP, hire REdknapp and destroy the squad by buying Christopher Samba for £15M we will be stronger for it.

Most of the England players are complete tossers though.

Agreed, I find it very dificult to support a team that has had the likes of Terry and Gerrard (Terry is a cnut of the highest order, Gerrard for attacking that guy in the bar) representing them.

I'd say Cole as well but we may sign him to replace Konch. ;)

Have no real interest in England now. Yeah if we won the world cup it'd be great but I don't get the same feeling from an England win as I do from City.

Club all the way

has to be a world cup victory. In the four years the world cup comes around again we could of had a promotion and survived 3 seasons in the prem anyway.

Can't believe anyone would chose that bunch of overpaid egotistical wankers over their own club.

I hate to break it to you but if your watching football above conference level chances are you're supporting overpaid egotistical wankers, there are just scales to it.

Yes but they are our overpaid egotistical wankers and that makes all the difference.

But you're ok supporting a team that has had Stan Collymore, Dennis Wise and Robbie Savage on it's books?

Yes but they are our overpaid egotistical wankers and that makes all the difference.

Same would apply on a World Stage with Terry, Gerrard etc.

For the first time in about ten years I haven't had that feeling at all this season.

No, like most football fans you find a way of excusing your own players but it depends upon the offence.

I wouldn't want to see Terry play for my club though.

When we got relegated in the year we lost 5-0 5-1 in consecutive weeks to Liverpool and Chelsea (I think!) it was fcuking horrendous.

I wouldnt want that ever again.

And that would have everything to do with what a top bunch of lads our players are and nothing to do with the fact we're basically 10 points clear with promotion to the Premier League all but confirmed I suppose.

I certainly get the feeling they are a more committed and down to earth bunch of lads that we have had in the past, I felt the same last season as well when it wasn't going too right for us all the time, hence why I wanted us to persist with it and the manager this season.

Maybe they will turn into a bunch of cnuts one day, until then though I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

Yes although I shall always be ashamed that we had Wise on our books.

The same doesn't apply with the WC simply because Leicester are my team, I chose to support them, I watch England games only because I'm English.

and like manwell said on a world stage, terry gerrard et al are your players?

up to you with your views on england etc mate and i get why you think some of the top players are nob heads off the pitch but on the pitch they represent our country and if by some miracle we won the world cup i fail to believe you (not just you btw, but all the people who claim to "not care" or support the england team) wouldn't fúcking enjoy it.

my opinion is if you're english and you like football surely there isn't really anything bigger than england winning the actual world cup?

Can't see it, James, King, Nugent, De Laet, Knockaert, Morgan and Moore all seem like decent lads who wouldn't cause trouble on a regular basis.

World Cup for me.

You need to take things into perspective with this one: If we didn't stay up next year - we would hopefully have been run correctly by Nige and the board and therefore be in a very financially stable position with a great squad ready to come straight back up and establish ourselves the following year. If we did stay up then what a fantastic achievement of course, but nothing that can't be achieved the year after next kinda thing.

If England were to win the world cup, it would be an absolute dream - we would finally have re-established ourselves as a good footballing nation and to actually have been alive the last time that England won the world cup would be something to treasure forever. Where as Leicester scraping 17th in the prem in the 14/15 season is just very impressive.

I think also the fact that the chances of us staying up next season are so good compared to England winning a world cup - the World Cup win has to be my choice.

Where did I say I wouldn't enjoy it?

I'd love every minute of it as I'm sure all England fans would BUT we were asked which we'd prefer from Leicester surviving or England winning.

Chosing one doesn't mean that I don't want the other to happen as well.

Premier League survival.

Leicester City FC mean more to me than England.

A Leicester victory fills me up with joy more than an England victory.

A Leicester loss angers me more than an England loss.

......Maybe that's were we differ then as I don't view Leiester as something I choose it was something I was bought up to be much like I was bought up English.

And I know Terry is a deplorable Human being but last time I checked he hadn't ever smacked a woman about so if your willing to tolerate that I'd suggest giving him a break, he's also retired from international football.

Given the choice I'd want the following before a WC win

Promotion to PL

Survival in the PL

Wiining the League Cup

Winning the FA Cup

World Cup for me. If it was Leicester qualifying for Europe then it would be trickier.

Yep I'm with you there. Perhaps a little better than just qualifying - getting to the quarters or something and Leicester would get it. Just the scale of it really that makes the difference for me.
