john ridley Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 It seems now we are going up,was just thinking ,I've been following city since the late seventies and I think this season we've never been more dominant. The Jock Wallace side were never this far in front nor Gordon milnes and the other ones were through the play offs ,maybe the Adams side were close but we never caught pompey .The over reaction after Tuesdays match ,which to be honest I've seen a lot worse was crazy, every season we've looked to a team that runs away with the league and wished it was us ,well now this seasons it's US ,we'll have promotions again but I doubt if we'll break as many records ,sorry if I've gone on abit but we wont get many seasons better than this, enjoy.
astoriafox Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Spot on, been supporting for the same length of time!
Tom's Pasta Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Well said. Shouldn't be an ounce of negativity from fans around this season, this season is as good as it'll ever get
Salieri Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Always make the most of the good times, this season has without a doubt been a hugely enjoyable one and to see our club (hopefully) win a league title in such dominant fashion may not happen again for a very long time to come.. When we got relegated from the Prem after a few years of 'success' I wouldn't have believed for a second that it would take ten long years (with a visit to League One along the way) to return to the top flight. We are hopefully on the cusp of a great period in the clubs history so bloody enjoy it while it lasts!!
ScouseFox Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 i've been to my first away games for over 2 years. #makingthemostofit
foxfanazer Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 We are actually going to be a premier league side next season. That's just crazy!
iancognito Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Very very true. If you're too young to remember the Little & O'Neill sides who went to Wembley every year, you missed some cracking seasons but honestly I can't remember a better season supporting Leicester. I've been to Vienna, to Madrid, to League Cup finals at Wembley and seen us win at Anfield, Old Trafford & the Bridge but this is the most consistent, most polished side we've had. I hope people remember it when we have a lot tougher games next year and players and management are getting inevitable stick.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Spot on, been supporting for the same length of time! And me1979/80 season was the first I started going Loved Jock Wallace
iancognito Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 We are actually going to be a premier league side next season. That's just crazy! It's where we should be, it's shouldn't be a novelty but it's been like the Grail. We always yo-yo'd until the last decade but we need to get there and 'do a Stoke'. Sticking by your manager works.
Fox_in_a_Box Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 How do you suggest we make the most of it? We all know how good we have been this season and I'm sure we are all going to as many games and supporting the team as much as we can. Apart from getting to the ground hours early watching the team arrive, buying every item in the store, every item of food, as many drinks as we can and then staying until you're the last person in the stadium 'm not sure how we can make any more of it. Next season may not see the domination we are accustomed to now but **** me i'll still enjoy it
john ridley Posted 29 March 2014 Author Posted 29 March 2014 Perhaps I worded it abit wrong about "enjoying it "but we've all seen on here the criticism of certain players which compared to other players we've had over the years wasn't warranted.
fleckneymike Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Weird thing is we wont see this team again. We'll be starting from scratch next season if any of the other promoted sides are anything to go by..
Fox92 Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 I've been a STH since 02/03 and in that time we've had/seen a lot of rubbish, so it's just nice to see us dominating the league at the minute. It's been a great season!

That's right ,its a shame but I'd expect this time next year the team to look very different ,but that's football I suppose ,nothing stays the same.

Perhaps I took your point to literal. I understand what you are saying. I love this team and I find it amazing how people still moan. We are fortunate to be blessed with a squad that are smashing the league and playing amazing football. Any Leicester fans who have watched us over a decent period of time should know the shit we have had. This season is ours! and aint no one taking it from us!
steveherbe Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Fan since the 70's? Bloody glory hunting johnny come lately. I've been a fox since the 50's - 60's really- and this is one of the best teams I've seen. Certainly since the Worthington/weller years.

Ha Ha ,fraid my first proper season was the Mclintock disaster ,so for me the Wallace era will always be abit special for me .Would have liked to have seen Weller/Worthington years.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 I am going to enjoy it next year and think we will surprise a few. I reckon Nigel has already got 3-4 gems lined up for next season and we'll probably never have heard of them - but will be excellent!!
katieakita Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Hardly get to a game now but my eldest has a season ticket and gets to a few away games goes with his Mrs and little lad so chuffed to bits for him. Probably makes up for me taking him as a youngster and his first season ticket to watch the crap dished up by Taylor's team. Age tells me things happen for a reason and last season's finish makes this season all the sweeter. Years ago was gutted when we lost to Blackburn then to Swindon both times thinking we were the better side.but was it worth it to do Derby, you bet! and they still think they were robbed, God bless Roger Milford
Sir Shep Posted 30 March 2014 Posted 30 March 2014 Roger Milford, one of the best ref's ever, as well as that bold Italian chap from a while back.
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 30 March 2014 Posted 30 March 2014 And me 1979/80 season was the first I started going Loved Jock Wallace My first game vs West Ham 1979 in the old Div 2, Jock Wallace manager then, but I loved the Gordon Milne period, very underrated manager and enjoyed top flight football for a few seasons. Lynex, Lineker, A Smith a great front 3.
