I guess you'd have to go back to Gordon Banks in '66 for the last time in an England shirt. I remember John O'Neill for NI in 1982 and I think Paul Ramsey played in 1986. Maybe David Kelly for the Republic of Ireland in 1990 as well. But we've not be too well represented at World Cups down the years.

Jeff could drop a sneaky next club recommendation and a little bit of early team building wouldn't go amiss. From what I've seen of him that Majeed Waris looks a real talent. Congratulations to Jeff as well. Would be so good to see a product of our academy at the World Cup. Good luck to him.

It's a gamble enough taking someone who's never played before (though I'm pretty sure it'll pay off) let alone someone who's at Le Havre and uncapped. Mahrez should wait for France anyway

Jimothy Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 Kaamark? Nope. The only World Cup whilst he was at City was 1998 and Sweden didn't qualify. He was part of the squad, and played, as Sweden come 3rd in 1994, but he hadn't joined City at that point.
