Having a game as comfortable as that away from home is something I think we'll all miss next season!

Posted

Just had it confirmed by someone at the match the Huddersfield fans came over to give it the big un so we came on the pitch to confront them. Then the police penned us in a few Leicester broke through and the Huddersfield fans ran. That's what happened on the tv stream. Then the decent Huddersfield fans came over and clapped and the fans started to party

I thought mounted police had come on the pitch the way their fans bolted!

We have more away points than 21 teams in the division have home points!

One of our most comfortable victories this season. Helped by the fact Huddersfield really didn't give a crap today.

Saying that, I thought Hammond, James and GTF were great today. Our build-up for the first goal was very nicely done. Break out quickly, Dyer beautifully-weighted pass to Carlos Alberto Taylor-Fletcher who tucks it away with perfection.

Their only bright spark was Sean Scannell. Terrorised Liam Moore all day and at times was scarier than Adam Clayton's beard.

Sved me writing a summary as agree word for word with this.

Scannell v impressive for them. I wonder if he'd be worth a punt as our right sided player next year?

Interesting to see us play without either of our flair players. We are much more dominant with the likes of Dyer and GTF than with Knocky/Mahrez. Might be a sign of Nige's intentions next season.

In regards to the moaning before the game:

A Leicester City fans guide to moaning about our manager throughout the season:
-Pearson will struggle to keep us in this league
-Pearson will never do any good in this league
-Pearson will never have us as a top half team in this league
-Pearson will never get us in the play offs
-Pearson won't keep us in the play offs
-Pearson will never get us in the automatic promotion places
-Pearson won't get us automatically promoted
-Pearson won't win us the championship
-Pearson won't get us to the 100 point mark
You've got one more thing you can moan about lads, after that it's safe to the gaffers proved the minority of our fickle bunch wrong all season! Bring on the 100 points!

Not going to lie, I was pretty disappointed with the starting line up, we should be preparing for the premiership, ok play the likes of King, Moore and Wood, but why play Moore at Right back? Why play Miquel, unless we are considering signing him, but even if we are thinking about, would he come when he can't even break into our championship side, will struggle even more to get into our prem side as we look to strengthen. Hammond and GTF, we know are reliable performers, but we already have better, and they won't be starting many next season.

So if we want to see how Wood, King and Moore look, then they should be playing around the players that will be playing next season, not Hammond, GTF, and Miquel, and in the formation we will play next season, one with pace and power and drive from the likes of Knocky, Mahrez, Drinky, how can we assess Wood and King if they are playing with GTF and Hammond, and vice versa and Moore when he is playing out of position and without the usual right winger in front of him.

On the other hand if NP knows who he is keeping and who is going and doesn't need to take another look at Wood, King, GTF, Hammond, Miquel, why not blood a few youngsters, Cain, Harry P, Hopper on the bench, or go for a strong team and crush them.

As for the game, a decent performance, especially second half, I'm not really criticising the line up, I just don't really understand it and what it achieved, other than 3 points.

How can you prepare for the Premiership by playing Huddersfield away? Thought it was a very accomplished performance and another 3 pts, what more do you want?

that is what friendlies are for, Pearson put the team out to win and maybe wanted to rest a few give them a break. Nothing wrong with that especially giving we won the game 2 nil and easily

Good win for us today, looking forward to next Saturday. Donny will have nothing to lose and reaching 100 points won't be as easy as most of you think, although a draw will suffice.

I think so, plus they probably wanted a bit of fun- something that is condemned by some Foxestalk users apparently.

That depends, if they're in Stone Island and bouncing like one of the lads it's fully acceptable.

If you want a go, of course.

Anyone else speculating that Wood might spend a good deal of his time next year out on loan with hope he'll be with a team that will allow him to find some form?

I could see that happening, I believe Pearson will bring in another striker, one that can do it in the prem

It's a squad game and players like GTF, Hammond, Miquel have all played their part in the success this season. Fair play to Nigel for rewarding them with minutes on the pitch at the end if the season.

Not denying it was a good performance, but we are still a work in progress and if Wood, for example, is going to be a part of our squad next season he needs to form an understanding with Nugent, Knocky, Mahrez, Drinkwater, not GTF, Hammond and King. That is how we can use Huddersfield away to prepare for the prem develop partnerships and understandings across the pitch, Moore and Morgan, King and James as a midfield 2, Wood and Nugent playing together up top with Mahrez and Knocky providing the ammunition, or Moore as an anchoring right back not going forward like RDL and giving Knocky or Mahrez free rein on the right, the opposition was poor and the three points largely irrelevant, you can also work on set pieces, taking and defending them, but that only works if you have the players that will be playing next season on the pitch, or you could play some younger players like Cain, Harry P and Hopper.

This is more or less a friendly, NP did not pick that team to ensure we won the game, we don't need to give any players a rest, the performance and the points are largely irrelevant because I don't think we learnt anything from the game, apart from maybe Miquel is worth a punt in the Summer, but the quality of the opposition hinders that.

Pretty sure they would rather have been rewarded with game time when there was still something to play for. It was a missed opportunity to learn something about some of our players in my eyes. Not knocking the performance of any of them, that was just my opinion on seeing the line up.
