chicagofox Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 There is holding out for a sensible price Yes, This is more like taking the piss and with a over valuation for a mediocre player. True. But the balls in their court so to speak so who can really blame them?
dannythefox Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 Pearson will get him if he wants him. But for me he's not worth over 5 million.
Kent Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 I think we should all bear in mind that despite what we might think about Ulloa or any other player, he is obviously a target high on the list that is looking likely to be struck off it so if we really do trust the managements recruitment policy then we don't want this happening with too many players otherwise we could end up with the dregs.

Very well said.
stu Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 Disagree. I think he is worth the reported 7 million. It's very rare to have a striker who has physical presence, is good in the air, has great technical ability with the ball at his feet, a clinical finisher but also has the poachers gift of being in the right place at the right time. Of course it is a risk, as is every transfer, but I'd think it would be a risk worth taking. He is completely different to any other striker we have and will give us different options in attack and would thrive on the service from our wingers. Pay the money I say.
smudger63 Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 No they are not. They are trying to get the best price for an asset that they own and we want. It's got nothing to do with who had a better season. It's basic bartering technique. So in the world of Brighton, and their bartering, based on last season, both Vardy and Nugent are worth at least 10 million, which even as a die hard Leicester fan, i think would be taking the piss. It`s one thing to want as much money as they can get, but there has to be at least some kind of realistic top dollar price, and 10 million is not it! They bought him for what, 2 and half million? Well he hasn`t become four times as good a player since he has been at Brighton! Time to move on to another target, we are Leicester City, we are not a charity!!
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 Disagree. Deucalion Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 Am I right in thinking Brighton have never said he is not for sale? Got a feeling, as this is still ongoing, something might come of it. Personally I don't care how much we spend so long as he is up to the job.
DarkTranquillity Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 Pearson has stated more than once that the club won't be held to ransom, and will move on to other targets.
FOXES-BROWNBOY Posted 31 May 2014 Posted 31 May 2014 Do you not think Ulloa might hand in a transfer request so they sell him to us and he gets the chance to play in prem

It`s all very well to say pay them the money they want, but if we pay well over what he is realistically worth, then we will be seen as an easy touch by other clubs, and every time we go in for another player, their clubs will be adding on to what the player is really worth, because they think we will pay it. Sometimes you just have to say enough is enough. walk away, and move onto the next target.
smudger63 Posted 31 May 2014 Posted 31 May 2014 Do you not think Ulloa might hand in a transfer request so they sell him to us and he gets the chance to play in prem Well according to their fans, he loves it at Brighton, and will only leave if Brighton want him to leave. This has been dragging on for a while now, so i would have thought if he was going to ask for a transfer, he would have done it by now.

Brooksy Posted 31 May 2014 Posted 31 May 2014 Are Brighton fans actually calling us irrelevant? Brighton? This one was my favourite The sooner the season starts and Leicester start taking some heavy beatings the better. These Foxes goons on here make Palace seem pleasant by comparison. The sheer arrogance of these pricks is breathtaking, by far the shittest club in the Midlands with zero class.
Dan Posted 31 May 2014 Posted 31 May 2014 This one was my favourite I thought the same. Terrific rustling from whoever's on there from here. I'd be a bit edgy if we paid seven million for this bloke.
Leeds_Fox95 Posted 31 May 2014 Posted 31 May 2014 This just stinks of Beckford all over again to me... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Leeds_Fox95 Posted 31 May 2014 Posted 31 May 2014 You mean Maynard? Sent from my crap phone using the unreliable internet application. Bit of both, both absolute Sagas, one we ended up with naff all, the other an arrogant cvnt who was just in it for the money...which is exactly what will happen with this chap if we persist. Say we offer a bit more and a bit more. He starts to think of his big premier league pay day and hands in a transfer request, that's where I'm getting Beckford from. mozartfox Posted 31 May 2014 Posted 31 May 2014 Not worth it - move on. As has already been pointed out, pay over the odds once and this will be the norm. We have time between now and August, so no need to rush into a panic frenzy and end up with a turkey (again).
smudger63 Posted 31 May 2014 Posted 31 May 2014 Where the **** do you get that logic from? Both Vardy and Nugent are similar age to him. Nugent scored more goals than him last season, Vardy scored one goal less than him last season. So if we are going on last seasons stats, Nugent and Vardy are both every bit as good and important to us, as ulloa is to Brighton, and they believe wrongly in my opinion, that he is worth 10 million. So surely that must make Nugent and Vardy worth 10 million in Brightons world of transfer fees. What part of that ****ing logic don't you get!
Blanesta Posted 31 May 2014 Posted 31 May 2014 Bit of both, both absolute Sagas, one we ended up with naff all, the other an arrogant cvnt who was just in it for the money...which is exactly what will happen with this chap if we persist. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I still don't get the Beckford bit, Do you think this happens to all the players that play in the prem? Or is it specifically Ulloa who will do this? Pearson does things differently to the days of Sven, and if we're bidding 5+ million for Ulloa then I'm fairly confident the player has more professionalism than you're crediting him with.
