Guest Posted 1 June 2014 Posted 1 June 2014 I hope we do sign him. A chance to resurrect the Franky Wortho chant Leonardo. Leonardo Ullo What? The one about Peter Shilton's missus?
sphericalfox Posted 1 June 2014 Posted 1 June 2014 if Ulloa is worth 8million, actually worth that, there'd be much more attention on him and we'd be fighting over his signature. As I'm not aware of any, I'd be surprised that Pearson would agree to a sum for a player who whilst probably would be good addition if we were planning on replacing some one, but Brighton are delusional if they genuinely feel he's worth that much.
notnow john Posted 1 June 2014 Posted 1 June 2014 What? The one about Peter Shilton's missus? No, that one was much better !
glen parva fox Posted 1 June 2014 Posted 1 June 2014 Heard somewhere 5 mill was final offer! Hope so, let's move on
yorkie1999 Posted 1 June 2014 Posted 1 June 2014 He's only worth as much as someone is prepared to pay for him.
Devonfox1884 Posted 1 June 2014 Posted 1 June 2014 He would be perfect in a 4-2-3-1 formation IMO. I think we should go in with a final offer of £6m. Imagine this team: Schmeichel De Laet Morgan Moore Schlupp James Drinkwater Albrighton Knockaert Mahrez Ulloa That team would do well IMO.

Imagine this team: Schmeichel De Laet Morgan Moore Schlupp James Drinkwater Albrighton Knockaert Mahrez Ulloa That team would do well IMO. I'd be concerned if we hadn't added more quality in our team, LB, midfield and attack in particular.
Legend_in_blue Posted 1 June 2014 Posted 1 June 2014 Schlupp will get found out at LB imo. He can't be considered 1st choice.

Way too high price?
Legend_in_blue Posted 1 June 2014 Posted 1 June 2014 No player at championship level is worth 8 million.

Still think we would need a quality prem centre back, a new left back, a experienced centre midfielder then we will be sorted!
Nod.E Posted 1 June 2014 Posted 1 June 2014 Just a suggested improvement to the mods:How about a bullet pointed summary at the top of transfer threads that keep us up to date with what has actually happened? It's a time consuming and arduous process reading through the reams of mindless drivel to get to the actual information.
Dan Posted 1 June 2014 Posted 1 June 2014 Is Ulloa actually any good as a target man or are people just drawing that conclusion because he is pretty tall? Chris Wood's got the ideal physique of a target man but he couldn't be further from actually being one.
Dan Posted 1 June 2014 Posted 1 June 2014 Well, I mean they're wrong aren't they? Quite clearly and demonstrably. If you're going to get all emotional about it then at least get your facts right: I'm sure Derby, Peterborough, Cov, Forest, Notts County, Northampton, Wolves, Walsall, Brum, Oxford, Cambridge etc. would love to be as shit or as classless as us. Leicester fans aren't thought of especially well nor especially badly but Brighton fans are starting to make a name for themselves as being just a tiny bit over-sensitive, perhaps even hysterical. I'm a very liberal sort and I don't approve of homophobic chants, but their response to that - as football fans - was quite extraordinary. Last week a pleasant young man in Hinckley town centre (whom I'd never met) came up to me while I was sat at a table with a mate and asked me how my honeymoon was going. If, instead of asking him how his speech therapy was going in return, I'd burst into tears, sobbed wildly on the floor for a bit and then complained to the barman, I might have made matters worse. It is, after all, Hinckley town centre on a Friday. I was genuinely shocked by how silent (and below capacity) their ground was for the PO home leg. Maybe their attentions should be focused on learning how to recreate the atmosphere of a football match rather than a night at the opera. A little less bleating about how mean and horrid the big boys are to them might be a start. I think it's only natural in this day and age when you pick up a massive influx of fans. They barely even filled the Withdean if I remember rightly (I might be wrong on that) and now they're getting bigger crowds than us, these people must have come from somewhere and new fans in this country are introduced with the mentality that you sit back and wait to be entertained.

sphericalfox Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 The above statement is not necessarily true in what way?
Stadt Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 Nobody was interested in signing Riyad so that obviously means he's shit.
sphericalfox Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 Nobody was interested in signing Riyad so that obviously means he's shit. I think you may well be missing my point. He's a striker firstly, and in past seasons, if a striker does well, that they may well be in demand should their team not get promoted, he's not an unknown quantity from France. If he was that good (£8m good!), then surely there would be other teams strongly linked with him. I've not read anything, and am happy to be corrected.
