Itsthejoeker Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 £6.5m. So you want £8m from us and £6.5m from them?
Fox Ulike Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 £6.5m. Yeah I'd pay that for him. Ulloa is exactly the sort of player that we don't have. Unless Chris Wood can step up a gear next season - which is uncertain. The point is not how much Ulloa is worth. It's how much we need a player like him. Unfortunately if he's settled down South chances are he'd be quite keen to go to Southampton. And they will be minted after off-loading Lambert for £4m!! If I had a choice of living in the Midlands or the South coast I would be down there like a shot.
Babylon Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 Just a suggested improvement to the mods: How about a bullet pointed summary at the top of transfer threads that keep us up to date with what has actually happened? It's a time consuming and arduous process reading through the reams of mindless drivel to get to the actual information. But it's ok for you to expect mods to do that and waste their time updating the first page? If anything worth knowing has happened it would be discussed, if there is lots of drivel then it's fair to assume not much has happened of late.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 He would be perfect in a 4-2-3-1 formation IMO. I think we should go in with a final offer of £6m. Imagine this team: Schmeichel De Laet Morgan Moore Schlupp James Drinkwater Albrighton Knockaert Mahrez Ulloa That team would do well IMO. That team would be ok in the Championship, but would, imo, struggle to survive in the Premiership.
Devonfox1884 Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 That team would be ok in the Championship, but would, imo, struggle to survive in the Premiership. Fair enough mate, just my opinion. Looking back at that team, i'd say we definatly need a proven PL central defender, although moore looks quality, im not sure he can handle the PL week-in, week-out.
Mark_w Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 That team would be ok in the Championship, but would, imo, struggle to survive in the Premiership. Let's be honest though, if Nigel Pearson had assembled that side last year, you'd have said it would have struggled to survive in the Championship (as you did with the side that ripped the league apart). Why should anyone care what you think?
sylofox Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 Southampton linked with him in today's Sun. Hope they get him.
Babylon Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 Hope they get him.So you'd rather another team got the player OUR manager wants. Brilliant.
sylofox Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 Why? I don't think he is good enough for the prem. Also as I stated I know a Brighton fan who watches him every week. He says he ain't prem class misses easy chances and at the 6.5mil asking price Brighton are laffin all the way to the bank. He likened him to Akinbadbuy.
sylofox Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 So you'd rather another team got the player OUR manager wants. Brilliant. On this one yes see my above post.
MC Prussian Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 So you'd rather another team got the player OUR manager wants. Brilliant. What did Saint Nigel tell you that we don't know yet? Spill the beans!

sylofox Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 Well if your friend says so Thats right a mate I trust better than all on here saying how great he is and at most seen him twice. And in one game playing a team that was hung over. If we get him I hope he works out and I'd support him don't mean I want him. I back Pearson to the hilt don't mean I have to agree with everything he does.
Dan Posted 3 June 2014 Posted 3 June 2014 It's not just 'all on here' though is it? Do you trust your mate or Pearson/Walsh? (Who have a phenomenal record in the transfer window) If Pearson thinks he's the man then get him signed.
smudger63 Posted 3 June 2014 Posted 3 June 2014 Well if your friend says so Are you his agent? If your not, you certainly seem to rate him highly. Given your high opinion of this player, i take it you have seen much more of him than the rest of us then.
Nod.E Posted 3 June 2014 Posted 3 June 2014 But it's ok for you to expect mods to do that and waste their time updating the first page? If anything worth knowing has happened it would be discussed, if there is lots of drivel then it's fair to assume not much has happened of late. Simply working on the assumption that mods use the site more regularly than the likes of myself and therefore are more up to date with current affairs anyway. Something like what Sky Sports do with their transfer gossip bullet-ins would work really well. If that's not a realistic improvement, then I've made an error in judgement. Just thought it would be a valuable addition. The popularity of my post on the matter would suggest I'm not the only person to think so, too! As I said, just a suggestion to improve the forum
Hack Posted 3 June 2014 Posted 3 June 2014 So you'd rather another team got the player OUR manager wants. Brilliant. But Babs, didn't you know Sly is much smarter in all matters football than our management! Clearly he is not in the role his knowledge deserves.
Babylon Posted 3 June 2014 Posted 3 June 2014 But Babs, didn't you know Sly is much smarter in all matters football than our management! Clearly he is not in the role his knowledge deserves. Yeah well I didn't know his mate says he's rubbish... I'll ignore the fact I've seen shit loads of other Brighton fans saying he's great. Or the fact our scouting team are... well scouts and not just some random bloke going to the footy.

As I said, just a suggestion to improve the forum Well I'm sure if Mark would like to pay all the moderators a wage, as Sky Sports do, then I'm sure the mods would be happy to give up even more of their valuable time. Whilst I appreciate you are trying to improve the forum, it's never going to be Sky Sports or news now. There are a multitude of sites built to give you that kind of news. As I know from first hand experience, the majority of mods have day jobs and just don't really have the time to keep stuff up to date.

I see Nod E's point but I think Bab's is on the money here, FT is a discussion forum not a news feed. There are plenty of news feeds out there like 'news now' and they've even stooped so low as to use First4lcfc and others like it as sources. If we had a separate thread for links or mods had to continually update the first page, it simply wouldn't work on a number of levels. Anyway back to Ulloa or put it in the User help and suggestions thread Nod E.......
