Bit bad we've so many fans who's sole decision on whether to buy a season ticket is purely based on what league we're in.

Novelty will wear off if we end up mid table also rans a few seasons in a row I can bet.

At least I'm consistently not going :trumpet:

It is very strange.

I am a bit upset the club didn't decide to sell on priority of how many games attended rather than just open it up to anyone, it was either spend £50 quid on calls or lose a days wages and queue for 5-6 hours or sit on the internet all day refreshing if you wanted one.

If we lose a couple of games you get the feeling the ground won't be a pleasant place to be next season.

Thing is I can't ever remember a reaction like this.......previous three times we've been promoted to the Prem I can't remember us selling new ST allocations in a matter of days? If it's because people think we're good now they could be very disappointed.

If it wasn't a pleasant place (when full) after sitting top of the league for half the season and breaking a boat load of records, you can be assured it won't be once we've lost a few games next year.

You've got your reasons though, and I think we've sat through enough utter shit home and away to avoid ever being labeled plastic lol

The length of time away must be a factor, the last two occasions we'd bounced straight back, so there must a novelty element.

I've been trying to work it out, I've got 2-3 people on my FB timeline who suddenly have season tickets after having never mentioned football before.

I know we have been away a while but I didn't expect this, maybe the brand of the EPL has become so big it's passed me by in the last ten years of being in this division.

I was thinking that, think Corky is probably on to something as well.

I have nothing against the 7000 new STH's whatsoever, they are just as good a fan as I or anyone else is, they are entitled to and welcome to become STH's.

All I am going to say though is that should we get relegated next season they renew for season after.

Unless it's just a massive coincidence people have found more time and money this season to become a STH for next season but have struggled to find this time and money in past seasons/if we get relegated next season.

Maybe I'm just be cynical.

But no, honestly, new STH's are all welcome.

Exactly. This how it should be, like water off a ducks back.

I think the people who are worried about being stereotyped a 'plastic' are making more of it than anyone else.

If people are worried about it and kicking up such a fuss making its closer to the truth than they think? Hitting a nerve maybe?

To all the worries, be more like The Singh.

Why worry? Why kick up such a fuss? Don't let it worry you?

That's how I'd treat the situation if it were me anyway.

I think the reason for all the season tickets being sold is simple. All the new buyers have worked out that if you don't get a season ticket the chances of getting match day tickets especially for the top sides would be zero.

We all know what happens if there is a shortage for the big matches , the real fans don't get a look in because favours are pulled and corruption rules. The tickets go to people who would not dream of watching championship football but sure as hell they seem to get them for the likes of Man City , Liverpool , Arsenal ect . So the ONLY way to guarantee  you as a peasant supporter will get to see those games is to buy a season ticket. I don't think it's got anything to do with thinking we are going to be great in the Prem it's about seeing all those big sides down here again after all this time..

What happens if you don't have a STH for next season, but get one for 15/16 if we're in the Championship?

Reverse plastic?

Ade Panikbuyi!! I decided to have a go during my lunch break and actually got through at the 2968th time of trying. I had a lesson to teach about 80 seconds later so I  selected the 1st seat I found and purchased! Could be an expensive mistake but my gut feeling is one of warmth and relief right now. SK2 - anyone else in there? I'm a loner who is friendly and will be travelling to games from a couple hours away. So, without wanting to sound like a lonely hearts ad, if any sound folks fancy the occasional beer etc. before games that'd be wonderful. Blue army!!

Next season defo be there chap, miss you guys. This season, only went to one game.

Anyway what is all this about plastic fans, surely all season tickets are plastic, it's the paper fans who need abuse ;-)

It is u fortunate for any non plastic fans who were not able to secure any if the 7000 new season tickets sold. However if you did wouldn't you be as plastic as those (and I'm one of them) who did !!

I wouldn't call anyone plastic who has spent the time queuing or on the phone for countless hrs ...

The point surely is that last season like the last nine home tickets have been easy to get hold of for most of the games. Having been to all but two home games this season as most seasons work dictates. We all know it will be almost impossible to secure tickets next season for home games unless we commit to purchasing the season tickets up front. And that is showing commitment to the club like they have to us all season...

So I'm sure there is some sower grapes etc etc but really plastic!!! Come on iff your not renewing and that's what you like to label us then were all plastic. I've been called worse ...

How many season ticket holders did we have in 03-04?

They were always going to sell out whether " plastic " fans got hold of them or regular fans who have made the plunge to guarantee getting tickets next season to the games they want to get to. That's what I've done. I live in Wimbledon and probably only do 10-15 home games a season maximum but it's been easy since I've been down here because I could ALWAYS get a ticket if and when I was able or wanted to go. That wouldn't be the case next season as it's gonna be a nigh on sell out every game and therefore people must be snapping them up to avoid the hassle of trying to get match day tickets. Plus, it's the novelty of being back in the PL for a lot of fans, some who may not have been old enough to remember/get lashed up with their pals when we were last there.

Any fan/s who evidently don't know what's going on at games next season or clearly aren't bothered about us will get a cheese and pickle cob full blast in their face from me.
