ibbosuk Posted 10 May 2014 Posted 10 May 2014 It's Marc Albrighton if like me, you couldn't be bothered to click on the link Well how did you know if you didn't click on the link ? The only way to know for sure who this story was referring to would be to click on the link and you "Claim" you didn't ? People are going to be very sceptical of you in the future, not saying for a minute you are lying, but it does undermines you credibility. I don't think your posts are going to be treated seriously in future.

Outfox the Fox Posted 10 May 2014 Posted 10 May 2014 Take a bow son, for this is your shining moment. I posted this story on here a week ago, after I saw Hackney Fox had reported it on Bentleys - but FT Admin deleted the post an hour later, I know not why!
ibbosuk Posted 10 May 2014 Posted 10 May 2014 Because obviously everyone is going to remeber that one post. well i will, it hurts me to think people think so little of others, lets face it his attitude stinks.

Stadt Posted 10 May 2014 Posted 10 May 2014 ibbosuk !! You have to be the strangest wum in the forum.
Daz93 Posted 10 May 2014 Posted 10 May 2014 Decent player, have always liked him. Would definitely take him on a free.
Merchant_Banker Posted 10 May 2014 Posted 10 May 2014 I suppose we're in a position where we don't necessarily need value for money though. I disagree with this. We will still be looking for value for money, just more money than this season. I don't think Pearson will pay over the odds even if he is paying £6 million.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 10 May 2014 Posted 10 May 2014 I actually think Van Wolfswinkel always looks dangerous when he plays.
TJB-fox Posted 10 May 2014 Posted 10 May 2014 Cornelius got unlucky with injuries and never got a crack in the first team. But if Pearson seriously believed he could prize him away for £500k at the time, I'm a bit worried at his understanding of the market He said he could have got him for around 500k before there was a huge fuss about him, and I fully believe NP seeing as he got Mahrez for 400k, Was on a free etc. Only thing thats worrying in this post is your lack of faith, not Pearson/Walsh's knowledge of the market
PAPA LAZAROU Posted 10 May 2014 Posted 10 May 2014 Anyway back to the Villa player. If he's not good enough for an ordinary to poor Villa side why on earth would he be good enough for us ? I think we should be setting our sights a bit higher than the likes of him if we want to stay in the prem.

The Year Of The Fox Posted 11 May 2014 Posted 11 May 2014 The people repeatedly claiming McCormack, Deeney, et all are realistic signings are completely baffling to me. Pearson has no history at all of paying excessive fees for English based players when we can reach across the continent and pluck up bargains from less-hyped leagues. If we're going to sign anyone of real value from our own league system it'll be bargains like Albrighton who are out of contract, it's classic Pearson and I'd be much happier with it. I'll be devastated if we genuinely break the mould and cough up anything over four or five million for some journeyman from the leagues we've just come from. Especially some fat, bang-average no-mark who's had one vaguely credible season in his otherwise obscure career, like Deeney. Agree with what you're saying completely. I'd be fairly sure any of our (bigger) money signings this summer will come from the continent and be unknown names to most- ala Knocky and Mahrez. Albrighton could be a half decent squad strengthening signing but he wouldn't be taking anyone's 1st 11 place. I can't think of any player/realistic signing that I would want to take a 1st 11 spot over our current lads.
Babylon Posted 19 May 2014 Posted 19 May 2014 Strong links on twitter from a West Midlands reporter about us leading the chase for him, offering 4 yr contract on 35k (pinch of salt obviously).

Babylon Posted 19 May 2014 Posted 19 May 2014 Sorted If we are going to offer decent money, it's not so bad if they are free agents and we don't have to pay out on a fee. But even still 35k seems rather a lot for him.

Happy Fox Posted 19 May 2014 Posted 19 May 2014 It is f**king lot of money but I guess because he is free agent it is the norm? if he wasn't a free agent we would have to pay Villa £2-£3m on a 20K a week contract which seems similar in value. But I thought we had this 30K wage cap, so this must be conditional on survival in the prem otherwise it is a lot of money for someone who I don't think will have a massive resale value unlike Kasper.
Merchant Posted 19 May 2014 Posted 19 May 2014 Albrighton, the winger, is set to leave and join Championship winners Leicester City on a free transfer. Villa have not offered the former trainee a new deal and Leicester are understood to have promised a £30,000 a week contract, which doubles his current salary. From John Percy - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/aston-villa/10842231/Aston-Villa-manager-Paul-Lambert-set-to-make-move-for-Manchester-City-defender-Joleon-Lescott.html
Happy Fox Posted 19 May 2014 Posted 19 May 2014 For a squad player we wouldn't be offering that amount that is for sure so imo he will definitely be a first team regular and when he has played on a consistent basis for Aston Villa he has shown some good form equating to midtable standard which is where we will be aspiring to be in the first instance.
Guest Posted 19 May 2014 Posted 19 May 2014 If we double his salary we've been done That said, a lot of our team will be on decent wages since promotion.
