Not going to comment on Newcastle, as I wrote off WBA after we beat them and said they wouldn't get another point with their run in - then they go and get 4 from 6. :sweating:

All I'm going to say is that we're making history. I'm actually excited for Chelsea now, since there's now next to nothing riding on it. The pressure will have eased a bit after all the stresses today, and I think we'll get a chance to play the game we've played in the last 3 matches, rather than be forced into the Sunday League attrition we were subjected to today. Chelsea are ridiculously dangerous, and fully merit their command of the title, but I honestly think the way we've been playing and their likely need to play an open game and go for the title-clinching win will make it a wonderful match.

As for Burnley, if they play that sort of negative crap for the rest of the season, I highly doubt anyone beyond their media luvvies will miss them. It was like watching a mirror image of us during that horrible run before Christmas.

Bye bye gravelthroat, take your inferiority complex down to the championship where it belongs.

Ed: Sod it, let's tempt fate. Villa will get dragged into this, get relegated and win the FA cup.

Anyone reckon Villa can still go down?

I really want them to but I reckon we are almost safe, a win (Maybe 2 to be safe) and a couple of draws so if thats the case surely unfortunately Villa are safe or have they got a bad run in (Hopefully :fc:)

The amount of empty seats at The Etihad is shocking! Looks like there are more empty seats here than there was at St. James' Park where they're having a stay-away protest.

They're still in it, but I can see another 4 points being enough - they get that and there's no way 3 of us will catch them.

Season's more or less over for them, but poor support really. It does make the extension look a bit silly.

By the way the media love Sherwood you'd have thought they were midtable. If we get anything on Wednesday we'll be level/ahead.

I'm watching on an American stream, the commentator compared Villa to the New York Yankees being relegated from the major leagues  lol  lol  lol

I thought they were doing better as well, there could be 6 teams battling out to avoid relegation by the looks of things.

yep, like i said in the post match thread i hadn't looked above 17th in the league for a while and was amazed that we are now 1 pt behind villa with an easier run in.

i'm 99% sure i even heard an interview with super tim where he was talking about the fa cup being a distraction, and then he said that after winning at spurs he was looking forward to the cup because it barely mattered that they were being distracted from the league. assumed they were comfortably 2 or 3 wins ahead of us, not a point!
