RizLCFC Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 Yes, he's linked again! http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Hull-City-s-Matty-Fryatt-Leicester-City/story-21161846-detail/story.html I can't believe he's only 28. Hull's top scorer last year, works hard even though he doesn't have pace, and as we know he can definitely finish. I wouldn't be too disappointed if we signed him, he's good back up.
Ric Flair Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 What's the point? We don't need back-up, we need genuine quality.

cc_star Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 We have GTF to come on & hold the ball up playing others 'in'. If GTF had have gone I'd have said Fryatt would be a worthy addition to the squad

If GTF had have gone I'd have said Fryatt would be a worthy addition to the squad If we're looking to sign Fryatt then GTF should've been released. At this rate we will end up with 6 strikers who can all do a job, but none have that genuine quality to get 10 goals in the league, it will be a big ask for Nugent but you never know, Vardy has the best chance.
Ric Flair Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 In case Nugent leaves? Would much rather have Frazier Campbell as Nugent's replacement. Money really isn't the issue for us this summer.
Unabomber Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 Yeah go for it Nige, give big Steve Howard a bell while you're at it too.

Agree but you have to look at more than one option? Though I think we have just had our name thrown in there as he has been signed by Nige before.
Happy Fox Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 What a waste of time to enquire for him anyway he isn't good enough for us.
MPH Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 What a waste of time to enquire for him anyway he isn't good enough for us. Depends how you define'good' Bearing in mind he was Hulls top scorer last season and considering he's played in the prem... . He wouldn't be my first choice but it would be an over reaction to say he is not good enough....

Not good enough for us.
Babylon Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 Scratching the barrel mate, cup goals makes him stand out but in a league a paltry 2 goals.... Not good enough for us. Yeah and the wonder strikers of Long and Jelavic managed 4... whooo hooo.
Babylon Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 We have GTF to come on & hold the ball up playing others 'in'. If GTF had have gone I'd have said Fryatt would be a worthy addition to the squad Yes it's a 25 man squad this year, but it doesn't stop you having 30 players and a few missing out. There will be takers in the championship for any of our players that don't make the 25. In fact I'd say it was a good idea to have more than the 25 in case of last minute injuries etc.
Happy Fox Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 Yeah and the wonder strikers of Long and Jelavic managed 4... whooo hooo. True, but they finished 16th I think although every one would take that next season we should be aspiring for better and I am sure NP will.
Babylon Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 True, but they finished 16th I think although every one would take that next season we should be aspiring for better and I am sure NP will. No, we aspire to stay up anything else is a bonus.
Happy Fox Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 No, we aspire to stay up anything else is a bonus. I agree 100%, but when you look at teams that romped the title with 100 plus points, look in the past Reading 106 points finished the following season 8th in the prem, Newcastle 102 points finished in the prem 12th the following season no reason why we cannot finish quite well next season.
sdb Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 I'm happy to let NP & SW sign who they think is best but my gut feeling is that if any other management team were brining in the likes of Upson, Albrighton and Fryatt i'd be a little concerned. We're making our bench a bit stronger when surely all signings should be to try and better the starting side... Anyway, I hope it's not true as I think the only type of striker we need is a physical one.
artursteppe Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 No, we aspire to stay up anything else is a bonus. The word 'aspire' combined with the phrase 'staying up' makes no sense. To just stay up is not aspiration, to finish in the top half of the Premiership is aspiration. To stay up is first base, minimum requirement, not aspiration. I agree with 'Happy Fox'. Edit:- Whoops, maybe I don't agree with 'Happy Fox' now, he seems to have changed his mind!
LCCFox96 Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 Don't think Fryatt brings anything new to the squad. If offered something we don't have or something we were unable to attain without spending a large sum of money then I would says yes. But as it is we could and should do better than Fryatt. Also I think his ship with Nigel Pearson has sailed.
