Matty Fryatt

I'm on the side of no thanks, fryatt is the past when we had a small budget, we can now buy so much better, and we already have better here.

He's certainly not past it as you put it as he's still only 28 years old and probably about to reach his prime - the only thing I wonder is whether he's the type of striker we need/we're looking for.

I wouldn't go back to have him sign for sentimental reasons, that's for sure.

It would be going backwards.

He's certainly no better than we have and I question whether what we have is quite good enough, we need atleast 1 quality striker in this summer and Matty Fryatt is not the answer.

Fryatt will want first team football he won't get that with us probably will go to a championship club NON story as far as I am concerned.

Whether people on here like it or not he is a proven scorer in the premiership ( top scorer for Hull last season ) Is Vardy ? is Wood ? Nugent could not cut it at the top level either. If he had not had an association with us before we would saying great,  a free transfer for a proven premiership striker what's not to like.

He actually bettered himself by going to Hull and is a much better and experienced player than when he played for us and is still young. I hope he comes back he is just what we need now a player with Premier experience and if he does I bet he will score more than Wood or Vardy put together.

He was top goalscorer for Hull on the virtue of his four cup goals (against Orient and Southend!).

Absolute top class bollocks.

I'm really not sure about this. I don't see what he offers that we don't already have. The fact that Hull brought in two strikers in January also suggests that Bruce doesn't really think he's up to premiership levels.

He's always been technically quite good but lacks that real pace to set him apart and we will need pace up front to have any chance of survivng next season, not just to score goals but defend from the front. Which is why Vardy will be key in that area.

I also thought his performance in the cup final exposed his limitations when played alone up front especially his lack of pace. Compared to a really top quality lone striker (eg Villa vs Real who I thought was brilliant. Not a completely fair comparison I know) he looked way out of his depth.

He may be a good squad memeber but maybe we should be putting the money towards some real attacking quality. We are going to need it.

If true, and even I can't see Pearson being this stupid after the success last season, it would suggest he is struggling to build a team for the Premiership.

Nugent/Vardy/Wood/Fryatt/NEW ST

I'd be happy with that. With Hopper and probably GTF going on loan to Championship, recalled if needed

Oh dear :nigel:

Yes, he's linked again!

I can't believe he's only 28. Hull's top scorer last year, works hard even though he doesn't have pace, and as we know he can definitely finish. I wouldn't be too disappointed if we signed him, he's good back up.

Bit of a sentimental signing !!

But this smells of very lazy journalism because we have a bit of money were going to be linked with all and his dog !!

But I bid like Fryatt when he was here but was never the same for us again really when he broke his jaw !

Think this is one of those pinch of salt moments

But anyway in Nigel we trust !!

Fryatt wass a great league one striker, and a good championship striker. He's now technically a prem striker but only because he plays for a team that were promoted to the prem.

he's obviously not got the quality needed for the prem otherwise Bruce would have played him more and he wouldn't have felt the need to buy a striker when they went up and another two strikers in jan. He's now not bothering to renew his contract and this is Hull City! They're a team that many are again tipping for relegation for fook sake!

If there is any truth in this then nige must just fancy him or something. It cannot be on footballing grounds.

I don't see much between Nugent, Fryatt and Campbell. That's the order I would rate them from worst to best too. I would guess that only one of them will be here next season as they're similar sorts of players.

Fryatt probably represents the best value for money out of them if we have to have one of the three being out of contract and probably wanting less than Nuge,

Being the highlighted words. It's only rumour, sometimes I wish people wouldn't take rumours to seriously.
