flintshirefox Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27924115 Leeds United have appointed former Forest Green boss Dave Hockaday as their new head coach. The 56-year-old replaces Brian McDermott, who left at the end of May, to become new owner Massimo Cellino's first managerial appointment. Hockaday, who has signed a two-year contract, has been out of the game since leaving the Conference Premier side by mutual consent in October 2013. He will be assisted by former Leicester City midfielder Junior Lewis. Made me chuckle. The man who features in most fans' Worst City X1 coaching the Leeds squad!
teblin Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Just because Lewis was a bad player, doesn't automatically make him a bad coach. Though he has worked under Peter Taylor an awful lot.
flintshirefox Posted 19 June 2014 Author Posted 19 June 2014 True - and vice versa. Just made me chuckle!
copunk Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 I still cant believe this is happening, my mate is a huge leeds fan and hes convinced its all a wind up and will be made into a mockumentary. leeds are a big club, many a manager would jump at the chance to go there, so why employ the chuckle brothers, astounding
fazzyfox Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 I didn't realise that he was divorced from Peter Taylor.
RumbleFox Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 He can't be 56? X I didn't read the whole thing. I am a tw£t. x
Dr The Singh Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 I think were being harsh, if he knows his own weakness's he will suceed!
sphericalfox Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 I still cant believe this is happening, my mate is a huge leeds fan and hes convinced its all a wind up and will be made into a mockumentary. leeds are a big club, many a manager would jump at the chance to go there, so why employ the chuckle brothers, astounding They'll basically be doing the training, Cellino will be making the transfers, choosing the team, and the tactics. Puppets. Sad sad puppets. The reason why they took the job(s) is simply that no one else would touch it with a barge pole, as it would be a minor miracle if they avoid relegation. Who in their right mind would sign up as a player, knowing the set-up, the potential to go straight down? These guys are sadists or are really really desperate.
ealingfox Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Are they trying to get relegated? Two absolutely bizarre appointments.
Mike Oxlong Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 The finest 5 yard square passer of the ball ever. LUFC - Onwards and Sideways.
surrifox Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 Just because Lewis was a bad player, doesn't automatically make him a bad coach. Though he has worked under Peter Taylor an awful lot. that's true but this is LUFC so you sort of want it to be so- no? evokes the usual clichés about putting the cones out at training sessions and seeing them beat the first team
This Charming Man Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 The continued demise of Leeds United isn't funny. It's hilarious.
katieakita Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 Have a mate who supports dirty Leeds not impressed but ask me for any positives, told him he would be a better coach than he was a player
Leeds_Fox95 Posted 23 June 2014 Posted 23 June 2014 I've got loads of mates who are leeds fans (shocking I know). They deserve absolutely everything they get, the most deluded set of fans I have ever seen. I've been to games with a few of them and I look up and see everyone bouncing up and down waving flags around in the air singing something about being champions of Europe?! That's like us singing about winning the FA cup regularly! It couldn't of happened to a nicer club...honestly, I hope these pair run them in to the ground, give the club and fans a nice wake up call. As if ken bates wasn't bad enough...hahahahaha! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
iamafox Posted 23 June 2014 Posted 23 June 2014 So Leeds have a foreign owner who wants Premier League football back at the club and all he does is appoint an unproven manager with no experience of managing in the Football League? And if McCormack goes then that would be the icing on the cake for their impending decline.
bluebeau Posted 23 June 2014 Posted 23 June 2014 Well at least the owner of LUFC has a bloody good sense of humour! Anyone know what odds the bookies are offering for Leeds to be relegated?
smiley Posted 24 June 2014 Posted 24 June 2014 Love it. just love it...... Having a bet on Leeds to drop whatever the odds. Nailed on.
