Brooksy Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 Draw with Luxembourg and lose to Costa Rica but can beat England. You just have to laugh at how bad we are.
ScouseFox Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 No point in 'ifs'. We are shite. Accept it. I cant think of a much worse England side in my lifetime. well you're definitely older than me and i've got 2008 and 2010 in my lifetime alone. both these sides were there for the taking and we basically gave them both 2 goals
Manwell Pablo Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 well you're definitely older than me and i've got 2008 and 2010 in my lifetime alone. both these sides were there for the taking and we basically gave them both 2 goals 2010 side was better. Had a defense for one, until we had to get Upson in.
ScouseFox Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 2010 side was better. Had a defense for one, until we had to get Upson in. there are a lot more positives to take from now than 2010, and if this side had the infamous "E A S Y" group it would've won it. no doubts.
BoneDog Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 All you English people who are happy about this can sniff my cheese you twats.
Haydos Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 Too many people are talking like Costa Rica are nobodies. You don't have to be great to win matches, look at Chile for instance, they don't have the best players around, maybe Sanchez & Vidal their only top class players, but they thrive on team work & togetherness, and it clearly works. Costa Rica look the same, their team work & togetherness is top notch, after Uruguay I'm not surprised to see them doing well against Italy either. A seriously underrated team. Out of interest, how come you always come up with these really 'insightful' posts just after the things you're describing have happened?
MC Prussian Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 Yet ripped us to threads. Told you he's very average. Where exactly? Just curious, y'know.
RowlattsFox Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 This World Cup has been about energy and work rate. The most impressive sides have had this in abundance.
Guest Col city fan Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 Where exactly? Just curious, y'know. Read back through the Italy/England threadGenuinely, do you read the threads or just make up random nonsense?
BoneDog Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 This World Cup has been about energy and work rate. The most impressive sides have had this in abundance. Leicester under MON would have probably made the semis.
Jimothy Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 Out of interest, how come you always come up with these really 'insightful' posts just after the things you're describing have happened? Because he copies what a lot of pundits say and tries to pass it off as his own. Does it on most sports he talks about. Except tennis, and then it become blatantly obvious he's clueless.
BoneDog Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 Well, I can't see Italy scoring two goals now. Ruined it, what a downer. Costa Rica population of 4ish million, bossing the group.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 Italy seem to have three Pippo Inzaghis up front.
Samilktray Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 Wondered how long it'd be until we had a resident expert on Costa Rican football on foxestalk.
Matt Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 Is DJ Campbell playing for Italy? How many times have they been offside. Well thanks Costa Rica for not prolonging the inevitable.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 Wondered how long it'd be until we had a resident expert on Costa Rican football on foxestalk. Mate, their workrate and togetherness is top notch, after Uruguay I'm not surprised to see them doing well against Italy either.
Mark_w Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 I've stopped wanting an Italy goal, they're not going to win, so hope Costa Rica go through.
Jimothy Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 So Spain are out in the first round, so surely B&B teams don't work. Should the FA follow the Costa Rican footballing model now?
Captain... Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 I for one would like to thank Costa Rica for putting us out of our misery now, rather than keeping vain hope alive for another week. I'm still pissed off from last night, so I'm actually happy about this. fvck you Italy, fvck you Uruguay and finally fvck you England, now to enjoy a week of quality football without worrying about stupid permutations.
johnny the fox Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 We are the whipping boys of the group... two of the countries we are up against have populations of less than 4 million.. disgraceful..
Samilktray Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 Mate, their workrate and togetherness is top notch, after Uruguay I'm not surprised to see them doing well against Italy either.Yeah, they're a seriously underrated side buddy.
Phube Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 Well that's made Tueaday afternoon traffic a lot lighter!
