Fez of Mahrez Posted 24 June 2014 Posted 24 June 2014 This is a depressing exercise. Might have to watch the other game.
casablancas Posted 24 June 2014 Posted 24 June 2014 Smalling slice and wilshere on the deck after 5 mins. Here we go.

Guest Col city fan Posted 24 June 2014 Posted 24 June 2014 Whatever the outcome of this meaningless game, thinking about it further I think its safe to say that Hodgson has fooked this up good and proper. Tactically, and in terms of playing personnel, he's made big errors all down the line. Three and half million quid a year! The second best paid manager at the tournament.. for what? Poor effort in a group that has proven to be possibly one of the weakest at the tournament... Frankly, as England fans we expected and deserved, better.

Roy has had his failings in this World Cup, but putting the whole blame on him is not on. He can't be held accountable to the individual errors which have cost us in both games.
HEGGSY Posted 24 June 2014 Posted 24 June 2014 I just want lallana to score .Me too, I splashed 11 quid on a dodgy England shirt with his name on the back because I was hoping he'd be our star of the tournament.

Guest Col city fan Posted 24 June 2014 Posted 24 June 2014 Yep its all the mangers fault. rah rah rah Yep. Absolutely the buck stops with the manager. The 'Purple Ronnie' school of thought would accept such a poor effort as 'hard luck lads' and we will go another 40 odd years of not getting near to winning a trophy. Man up. I think both Roy and the team are getting away pretty much scot-free for such a poor showing.

Wow you really must have avoided reading my posts, can't blame you, believe me I don't think that way at all, but the constant blaming of managers is a very simplistic view of why we continually fail.
Guest Col city fan Posted 24 June 2014 Posted 24 June 2014 what is he supposed to do if the best players he has at his disposal are significantly worse than our opponents? You think our players are worse than the Italians? Or Uruguay? (Suarez excepted)? Thats the attitude that excuses our failings in one foul swoop and one that needs changing. We should have done better.

Thats the attitude that excuses our failings in one foul swoop and one that needs changing. We should have done better. in both games italy and uruguay WON 2-1. therefore we arent a better team than them i could understand your point if we dominated those games and were unlucky to concede..however that didnt happen. in the last 10 years italy several of those italy players have won a WC, semis of a euros and been runners up in the euros, whilst the uruguay team finished 4th at the last wc. just because our players are household names doesnt mean we are better than either of the teams mentioned. the facts speak for themselves
GingerrrFox Posted 24 June 2014 Posted 24 June 2014 This midfield is a damn sight better than Gerrard/Henderson were all tournament.
Bert Posted 24 June 2014 Posted 24 June 2014 Lallana had been rubbish. Barkley trying to do too much.
lgfualol Posted 24 June 2014 Posted 24 June 2014 Depressing to think how old I will be next time there's a world cup. God knows how old I'll be the next time England qualify.

Gerrard's legs have gone. He needed subbing, especially against Uruguay. God knows why no-one man-marked Pirlo. Baines looked a shadow of the player he can be. The list goes on to be honest. I'd be surprised if Italy progress any further. Uruguay might do. I think both were there to be beaten this year.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 24 June 2014 Posted 24 June 2014 Anyone know the words to the England version of WLY?
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 24 June 2014 Posted 24 June 2014 Have I got time to pop out for a subway and some dandruff shampoo?
