Why don't we all just stop worrying?

Recommended Posts

Every post in the transfer talk section is basically, "We need more strengthening, and we need more defenders." THERE IS STILL A MONTH LEFT TO SIGN and/or LOAN PLAYERS. We should all start being more realistic and put a little trust in Nige. I know it's not all of you, but still.

If people want to worry let them, some people are born pessimists they're not going to stop worrying because the optimists ask them too it just clogs up the forum pointless debates.

i totally agree that they have a right to worry, but sometimes its not needed.

I do agree with this but I've just come to ignore the pessimists. It is a forum where everyone can share their views and although I disagree with the views of alot of people on here, its up to them if they want to write it.

It's the thought of starting with maybe Konchesky/Schlupp and Upson.

Imagining the likes of Lukaku, Hazard & Sanchez running at them, is quite scary tbh.

Most PL defenders would struggle against those 3.

Running at our defense is one thing, getting past it another.

Palace didn't look too bad when Hazard etc was running at Dann, gabbidon, ward etc.

Doesn't mean we can't get better defenders does it?

With the knowledge of running the risk of repeating myself - fast and reliable centre-backs are very, very rare and usually join Paris Saint-Germain for £40m or more.

Do you have that much spare change? Maybe now you see that we can't and won't afford that.

Pace in a (central) defender is one thing - whereas positioning, general awareness and communication with your teammates on the pitch are equally important.

Not sure David Luiz and reliable have ever been in the same sentence before...

More than likely, but we could add that bit of quality or depth, and save ourselves embarrassment, by losing 2-0 instead of 5-0. If we start Konchesky, he would probably be the oldest starting full back in the Premier League. I see already he is the joint oldest along with Hibbert, Demel & Reid, and I doubt they will start for their teams.

They might not necessarily get past us, but it's highly likely they will.

And you saying about pace at centre half, pace at centre half is not essential at all, but we already have it with Moore. We just need competition in the full back spots.

Hull stayed up last season playing Rosenior, Bruce and Figueroa in defence.

Fair enough case to answer for, but there's others who don't think Upson, Konchesky & Schlupp are good enough. I'm worried about the full-back situation mostly, centre wise Upson could be vital in some games, but at the minute I can see us starting with Morgan & Moore, we aren't going to leave our captain out, while Moore is one of the best English talents atm.

I just worry if De Laet get's injured, because he did a few times last season. While Schlupp is only starting to learn his trade at left-back, while I don't see many clubs starting full-backs over the age of 30, maybe the odd one like Ivanovic but his international quality.

Schemichael is as good as any goalkeeper in the bottom half of the prem

Moore and De Laet will only get better

Big Wes has been the best defender outside the prem for many years now.

Konchesky and Upson both have lots of prem experience.

We do not need to worry about how the go against Hazzard, Sanchez, Aguero etc its how they go against anichebe, fletcher, Ings etc that will decide if we stay up or not

Everyone uses that argument but it would be scary with any defence. We're not going to sign anyone that will cope comfortably with that calibre of player and neither will many teams.

If we'd have signed Haangeland for instance, would you feel any more comfortable? I know I wouldnt.

The team has earned our faith so we should show a little.

I trust in Nige, he is one of the best managers in English football & he knows City's strengths & weaknesses. So stop worrying ffs.

I have much more important things to worry about. For instance, the size of Mars Bars keep getting smaller!

Nobody has ever come in for Wes from the prem, which says something. The defence wasn't that good last year and its basically the same this year so I although panic maybe the wrong word, this defence is going to struggle against any team in the prem. Fulham stuck 3 past us and they were useless
