Dan Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Correct me if I'm wrong, do we not go into the draw for this? The first round is played during this week and the draw was on Wednesday or Thursday last year if I remember rightly. It's seeded so we'll draw a lower league side but I thought I'd point it out.
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 We do, along with the non-Europe qualifying members of our league, and the top two relegated sides from last year's Premier League.
Leicesterpool Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Preferably away- Don't mind if it's Cambridge United Burton Albion Sheffield United Mansfield Town Newport County
Craig Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Some lower league side such as Forest, Derby, or Coventry would be nice.
Countesthorpe Fox 1884 Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Wouldn't mind Sheffield united away
Fox92 Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Not going to happen but I'd like Chesterfield or Mansfield away.
Bilo Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Cov would be pretty good, to be honest. I could see them giving us at least two sides of the ground with the ongoing boycott. Notts County would be pretty good, apparently they give up to 5,000 if demand's there.
Bilo Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Peterborough away would be good for me Not as good as it used to be without the away terrace, but as close to local as I'm likely to get. I can't imagine the away allocation being great, mind.
Corky Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Coventry won't get through, Cardiff will be too strong.
Bilo Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Round 1 draw Oldham Athletic v Middlesbrough Shrewsbury Town v Blackpool Sheffield Wednesday v Notts County Tranmere Rovers v Nottingham Forest Leeds United v Accrington Stanley Bolton Wanderers v Bury Rochdale v Preston North End Rotherham United v Fleetwood Town Carlisle United v Derby County Port Vale v Hartlepool United Morecambe v Bradford City Barnsley v Crewe Alexandra Chesterfield v Huddersfield Town Blackburn Rovers v Scunthorpe United Burton Albion v Wigan Athletic York City v Doncaster Rovers Sheffield United v Mansfield Town Reading v Newport County Bristol City v Oxford United Brighton & Hove Albion v Cheltenham Town Coventry City v Cardiff City Luton Town v Swindon Town Dagenham & Redbridge v Brentford Charlton Athletic v Colchester United Crawley Town v Ipswich Town Wolverhampton Wanderers v Northampton Town Yeovil Town v Gillingham Milton Keynes Dons v AFC Wimbledon Exeter City v AFC Bournemouth Stevenage v Watford Plymouth Argyle v Leyton Orient Birmingham City v Cambridge Untied Portsmouth v Peterborough United Millwall v Wycombe Wanderers Southend United v Walsall
Bilo Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 That's the draw for Round 1, and I can imagine a few 'local' sides bowing out looking at it. Cardiff look too tough for Coventry, and I can't fancy Northampton's chances either. Notts County stand half a chance at Wednesday, Peterborough should overcome Pompey and I don't see Forest or Derby dropping at the first hurdle either. Would we get a massive allocation if we drew Forest away, I wonder?
Corky Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 We won't draw Forest, they'll be seeded as will we. I think the cut off point is about 20th in the Championship for the unseeded teams.
Bilo Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 I did wonder how the seeding worked. Posh or County away would work out just great.
Nalis Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Edit: Didn't realise seeding came into play.. Leyton Orient away please
